You wanted your chrome painted red, right?
My uncle used to prep cars when he was in college. My Grandma had a ‘65 Ambassador that by ‘80 was a rust bucket. In San Diego no less. Gotta love Ramblers. He did all the prep and masking. Took it to Earl. I have no clue what the basic shoot price was by then. It lasted about two years before it started peeling. It was horrible. You get what you pay for.

I don't remember a $20 paint job. I even got a $119 paint job from a company that took over his place here. Macco or something like that. It was a work car (1980 Dodge St. Regis--most reliable car I have owned). I was surprised how good it actually looked. I wasn't expecting much.
