Thunderbird Club

Definitely not the friendliest price tag.

Luckily I don't have a need to change strings often so I'll pay a certain price for strings I like/use. I bought TI's because everyone was gushing about them, but they didn't deliver for me. Others love them - we're lucky to have options

I tried TI flats at one point and especially for what they cost - they didn't do anything for me either.

Unlike La Bella. I had a set of black nylons that the silk on one ball end was twice as long as the others. It went way past the saddle. I called to ask about a replacement and they said it was within their process control spec and too bad. If 2x is process control, they have neither process control nor customer service.

The TI were not even remotely impressive for me.

I cannot shut up about how much I like Pyramid Gold flats. EBCF are a distant second and 1/2 the price, and I do highly recommend them.

Thanks to y'all I have tried some roundworms on fretted basses, and some are not too shabby, I can't recall for sure but I think Chromes are good and are SIT rounds..... and I have EB nickle on most all of my fretless, but I never change them so I'll maybe never try any others on them.....

LaBellas are the one brand I will never try again....

I would consider TI flats on a 6 string treble geetar at some point, but Pyramid makes some comparable too so I may get a set of each.

My 66 Kalamazoo has chrome rounds and so does my 2013 EB4, I do like them...

My epimophoam 64 TB's still have whatever comes stock....

The SIT nickle rounds are so very close to the EB nickle that I have no idea what they are on, but it's most certainly a fretless.... maybe they are on my 21 NR boid....

I really would like to try tapes on my 78 Ric 4003FL thanks to that jackass Chris Brubeck, but I still wouldn't sound like him.... that guy pisses me off...

They found an unreleased Yes song from "Fragile" sessions to the new deluxe box. Unfortunately it's not a Yes song at all but a Terry Reid song from his River sessions which started at Advision studios with Eddy Offord producing and feature a future Yes drummer Alan White.

I find it very odd that nobody questioned the song before it got added to the list. It's clear from the start that it's not Jon Anderson or even Chris Squire singing and definitely not Steve Howe singing (or playing guitar). Maybe somebody thought that Bill Bruford could sing like that and just kept it under a lid?
Come on, nobody at Rhino recognised Terry Reid? To say he is underrated is an underestimation.

Did you paint your Thunderbird to match your Thunderbird…or paint your Thunderbird to match your Thunderbird? Ha!

Yeah, my flats don't get changed at all so I'm cool paying for them. Buy once cry once kinda mindset.

I've wanted to try pyramids for a while now but just never have.

Well, after my recent visit to the doc.
(Which by the way my cousin, who’s a PA says, I shouldn’t be as healthy as I am), he meant that jokingly)
No more food like that for Jeff.
My only battle now is my extremely high cholesterol.
Otherwise this guy can rock on for years to come.
can’t like…..oysters ok?

TI’s have always been hit or miss for me.
Mostly a miss.
Now a big fan of Dunlop String Lab flats.
I had a G recently break.
I messaged Dunlop.
Talk about great customer service.
They’re not only replacing me with a full new set, they’re sending an extra set as well on the house.

I had a similar positive customer relations experience with GHS years ago. If a biz treats me with disrespect, it's the last time they get my biz - simple as that.

I’ll see. Shell fish is loaded with cholesterol.
I may be on a whole new eating regime very soon.
Gonna see what my doc recommends.

Sorry to hear Jeff but considering you're otherwise healthy, worst things could happen. Everyone getting to our age-group is or will be dealing with something.

I'll just boil a whole chicken for you to snack on while you're here visiting, mmmmm......it turned gray!
