Thunderbird Club

Ah! KRM.

So for some reason I haven't been getting 'alerts' for TBird Club for about 25 pages. Trying to catch up. Congratulations to people who've gotten new basses, amps, pickups(bass or vehicle), and babies/grand babies. No idea WT7 is going on; it happened with another thread too.:banghead:
Happens to me too. If I don’t see an alert in a few hours, I just check the website.

I love this bass.
The pick guard is a work in progress.

Combination signature series.
A one off.

I like the flaming in your guard. I went with the more traditional tort on my ThunderCaster along with a reverse bird flying a Fender “F”. It’s meant to be controversial, equally despised by Fender and Gibson fans alike.

Such silliness... I've always felt akin to the spirit of the original hot-rodder's (of all persuasions but in this case specifically cars/bikes) in that those late 40s/'50s teens founded the concept. Create a thing, a thing made up of many disparate parts of other things (early recycling?) and make it f-ing rock and also make it uniquely yours! At that point who cares about the parts' brands? Brand X! Those are North basses - that's the only important 'brand' to note.

Interesting Jeff - so is it a clear lucite pg with the red thunderbird printed (on top?, on the underside?) and you've layered a cool floral vintage wallpaper? under it? It's very Baroque...

Ran a very informative player drill/exercise today. I'm lucky enough to have over the past 5 yrs now, been able to orchestrate pro-level recordings of our band. (visit the YouTube post above to access our recent 16 song release)... anyway.., what I did earlier tonight was play along with every track. With head-phones, but no amp on the bass I played while listening. This simple exercise helped me understand more about how & why I choose bass-lines, cadence, counter-point, tempo, in-front-of or behind the beat?, melodics., rhythm, colour, pressence, authority, tone... all of the above - in order to lay down those tracks. Studying yourself leads to understanding your unique voice.

Once something is recorded - it then has a specific, solid reference point, "this is what we were doing at this time & place in our lives" Sooo, to play along with your past self (even if only a few years) is really fun and informative. Also, keeps you sharp!

The material was intended for an acoustic guitar.
So when I had it on originally, it was self adhered to the body.
And it looked much more red.
But now i put it over a white pick guard, and that’s really what it looks like.

There is a bug of some sort. The Thunderbird club is the only one I consistently get alerts for. I don’t get them for the Mesa Subway thread, the MLB thread, or the last albums listened to thread like I should.

And you missed Marshall swearing off anything blue. That was a big deal.

(You know that didn't happen.)
