Well deserved Irv. You're a far better player than I am in my dreams, but I think you may be overthinking it. In my thinking what we do as bass players:
1. Fits/serves the song well or not (stands out by overplaying over-clever in some way).
2. If it fits and serves, there begins a lot of subjectivity based on history, preference and influence. From here once a bass part fits, there could be a number of ways of adding fills and even general playing that all still fit/serve the song appropriately (I use that loosely).

That said, I love what you did. Could you play a few more notes or less and at different times and places? Yes, but it still might fit the song great. You (and we), might have different preferences on several takes, but it's then getting in the more subjective area IMO. Heck, you might do one take and like it and 2 months from now like another take. (This opinion cost nothing is also worth nothing. )

I appreciate you guys taking the time to listen and give some feedback. I'll leave that one as is

Mine's a '77 and I think the pickup is magical, there's simply no other like it. The headstock is in between the modern Gibson and an older one like a '76 - Much smaller than the needlessly oversized Epiphone.

Yep. The late seventies, from my playing George’s, are magical. I do not have a Greco. Yet. Someday…

@TBird1958 the ohsc on the 64 leaves a lot to be desired as does the one for the late 60's which I solve by using the 2013 NR case where the fit is perfect...

what year is the case of yours? I want to get one but wanted to make sure the fit is snug...

Yuck. Bacon is best cooked to medium. There are two ways to properly cook bacon iIMO. Fry in a cast iron skillet. And only cast iron. Watch over it like a Thunderbird. Turn it repeatedly. Or if you do not want to deal with splatter, and are lazy, in an oven. At 350. Again, watching over it. And turn it.

Right. I was addressing the Stones because they are probably the best known band that's been around that long, and a lot of people seem to think they have always written their own music.

Actually, I don’t like my bacon extra crispy, if I wanted bacon bits for my salad I’ll buy some. I like my bacon cooked to the point you can still tie it in a knot if you want to.

I have an eye on an ‘88. I REALLY do not need to buy another bass (or anything really), but I recently had my hands on a Greco Flying V bass owned by an acquaintance and was surprised at how well built it felt. Not to concerned about the pickups as I don’t think the originals are in it, more interested in how solid it’s built and the potential for low action it may have. I have a ‘99 Gibson that no one can seem to setup with reasonable action without a significant buzz on the E, and now I’m gunshy about any set neck/neck through basses.

Both of mine (88 and 90) are rock solid, and the action's nice and low. I need to play with it a tad more; if I'm playing hard, I get a bit of buzz on the E on two frets on one of them, but I'll be really surprised if I can't get that sorted.

…a beautifully custom built 2009 Tom Petersson Tbird finished in Mary Kaye White over Swamp Ash with a very unique pickup placement dictated by Tom. Sounds wonderful, plays very nicely and is well under 8 pounds. Still getting it all lined out but so far looks like a keeper.

My wife cooks it the "lazy" way and the cleanup is so much easier. We like it soft/limp as well. Once I ordered breakfast and asked for the bacon to be limp. The waitress said she couldn't tell the cooks to make it "limp" because of the jokes that would follow the request. She said she referred to it as "soft" because no one made jokes about it that way.

With this being said, I have a question: I have three Gibson ‘birds from the ‘90’s, a ‘95, ‘97, and a ‘99, and I have three Gibson ‘birds from the 2000’s, two are 2001 and one is a 2003. The ones from the 2000’s set up great and all have low action with little or no E string buzz. The ones from the ‘90’s seem to be more difficult and all of them end up with higher action in order to mitigate E string buzz (the ‘99 is the worst offender). In the case of the ‘99, I feel like I have tried everything, it’s been in the hands of two different luthiers, it’s been PLEK’ed, I have tried the spacer for the Babicz bridge (the all have a Babicz bridge), I have EBCF 105-50 on it, which are petty stiff in standard tuning.

I have see here that the neck angle is different pre 2000 to post 2000. Are the earlier ones (‘90’s) the ones with the steeper angle or is it shallower?

My 88 and 90 Grecos have a pretty shallow angle, FWIW.
The 90s were not the best time for Gibson quality, IIRC.
