I have played several; 13-14 pound Les Pauls. Pretty big shock after playing only a Hagstrom Model 1, hollow bodies, and Strats for a few years.

I'd take a J over a P, but if I have a Thunderbird, I'm not sure how much the J would get played. Best guess - not much.

No. It is incredibly beautiful but not mine. It's FS on Reverb. $$$$. The Tbird shape and that wood combo certainly makes a PJ setup more appealing than it would be in it's usual set of clothes.

I'm younger and thinner (but taller), but could only dream of playing like you. If I have to pick between you and me--me would be out and you would have the job.

I've possibly mentioned this before, but I dd the finish on a maple-body custom lined-fretless bass for a friend. He made the body from an actual multi-lam cutting-board. It weighed 13lbs. It sounded really good but even playing it sitting down with that weight on your leg was very uncomfortable!
We nick-named it "Creature of the Black Lagoon" bass...
True, for some. I'm sure there are people who would much rather play with those who don't have "the look" (whatever that is defined by whoever was granted that ability to codify that definition), but can play, are mature enough to not cause needless drama and just be a great person to spend time with. I'll take that all day, and you fit the bill there. But a 18 yr old girl metal band might not be a good fit.

Joking aside, there's got to be people that would love to have "The" Mike in the band. You'll find something, I have no doubt. Just may take a little while to figure the scene out.

Spector has some beautiful woods and finishes, not cheap, but beautiful. I’m kinda surprised they didn’t use a more uniform back piece, that odd maple grain on the Upper horn and bout of the back is giving me OCD fits. The front is to die for though!
Who do you think makes the better bass? Warwick or Spector?
Maybe he excludes us if we disagree with him on something?
