Thanks for posting it. There’s another cherry one on Reverb right now, a 2012, but, at the lowest the guy would go, and adding tax and shipping, it would have come to over $2100. I’m in just $1580 on this one.

I have a nice set of Gibson re-issues pickups (chrome) that came out of a 2021 NR that are going in it, along with some chrome rings (double stick-taped to it). Probably going to get a chrome 3-point, Hipshot ultralights and d-tuner, and a black pickguard (courtesy of @Engle ) for it. All 100% reversible mods. This will “probably” stay in E-standard tuning, so it will get its playing time with Bad Lemon, but possibly I’ll string it up with some 50-110’s so I can do E standard tuning or Eb. Then it could see some RSR time…

That is indeed a great buy.

There is space like that in Guancaste Provence, Costa Rica. My inner hillbilly could see living here like that. My exterior not quite such a hillbilly listens to my wife's audible eye rolls. Plus it is way too hot for me here.

My son-in-law married to the shrink is from Costa Rica. Beautiful country.

It looks good, yellowing a bit like mine - the color is actually "Classic White" not Alpine. They look good chromed out

I’m not positive it’s a 2001. An ‘01 would have an ebony board. Check the S/N. 9 digit. All mine, from ‘95 through ‘03 have 8 digit numbers. I think this one is an ‘06.

Looks like a fantastic example. I was (shall I say I am still) a bit nervous going through FB marketplace, but I used PayPal goods and services, so hopefully I’m protected… hopefully it will just arrive and I’ll be able to call it a great transaction.

What kind of strings is everyone using on there Thunderbirds
I am currently using TI Infeld Superalloys on my 2010 Gibson Thunderbird which seem to work very well !

I still use Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats on them all - Epi bolt-on (strung BEAD), CP, Vp, and two Grecos. The Pyramid Golds were really nice. For the early Angry Piano sound, Rotosound 66s (long) are great - I just seldom play anything the sound fits.

Yeah, I have A LOT of OHSC’s. Also a lot of gig bags which is really all I use, for storing as well as going to practices and gigs.

If I only had an attic…. Or even a basement or decent crawl space. Having a slab foundation and flat roof leaves little room for storage. I have an auxiliary “shed” but it can get damp in the winter due to condensation, and it’s already pretty full of “stuff” I should just get rid of.

Attics here generally aren’t options. Too dang hot up there.

Don’t you live on a farm? I’d guess that space isn’t too much of a problem. I’m in 865 sq ft, no attic no crawl/basement. It’s kinda like Tetris around here. And I don’t care for clutter, so at least if it’s “organized” I can tolerate it. A springtime project will be clearing out the shed and re-packing it. I also have a nice space along the side of my house that runs the length(depth?) of the house. The former owner built it really well. It never gets damp and it even stays rather cool on even the hottest days. This is where I have all my Gibson cases, as well as a few shipping boxes, original effects boxes, and a bunch of work and household related storage. THIS space has gotten out of control and will be getting a thorough re-organization this spring as well.

The really hard part about these “clean-ups” is all the stuff I have that I don’t need anymore but is in perfect working order (especially work related hardware and electronics). Much of it is obsolete, but I still have systems in the field that use some of these parts. But I have more than I’ll even need, so which parts and how many do I toss? Again, perfect working hardware/electronics. Hard to just “throw away”….

I get it. I have a bunch of parts left from when I was building tube guitar amps I need to figure out what to do with.
