Thunderbird Club

They are. AFAIK, BJTs are more commonly used in lower powered amps. MOSFETs are used in higher powered amps. They pretty much rule the Class D world.
Interesting this power section is BJTs.
FETS are voltage controlled, they behave like tubes....BJTs require current to drive them...faster...MOSFETS have become popular because (among other reasons) as mentioned, not needing current to bias them (a BJT amp draws current with no signal, where a MOSFET amp doesn't) they are much more efficient hence apt for mobile applications where battery life is of concern.....they rule in Class D amps because of their very low on resistance...

Good evening Thunderbird loving sisters and brothers. Just wanted to drop in and wish everyone a good long weekend. New band played its third gig, all at the same winery downtown. Although we were competing with a local food event ("Pig Out In the Park"), and the holiday weekend, we still had a good crowd. Folks at the venue are very good to us, as is the audience. Greatly enjoying working with the new band, and I think we have a great deal of potential. Anyway, broke out the Bird for this show, and received many compliments on my tone, and some general interest in the bass. Great fun. This picture is from the sound check. Talked with the sound guy afterwards, more convinced than ever that its time for a new amp.
I hope you all have a great rest of the weekend.

You been holding out on us brother. Sure like the ladies….

Thanks for reply. That link is a hardshell case... was looking for a gigbag.

It's a Rex Brown signature Thunderbird. Not a reverse.
I can appreciate the ease and convenience of a gig bag but gig bags are for Fenders. As a long time Thunderbird player and luthier you are tempting the fates with a gig bag. I see a busted headstock in your future.

Note taken. I bought gigbags for my EBMM Stingray and Rickenbacker, too.... and they included hardshell cases. Gigbags are good for short car trips. For long, cluttered car trips... I'd defnintely use the hardshell.

A couple of cool non-bird birds in the classifieds:

LOL - I always shudder when I get this note from Guitar Center after ordering an item for delivery. In this case it’s a vintage MusicMan 115 bass cabinet to pair with the vintage MusicMan HD150 bass amp I already have.
Note it says the Bass Cabinet “may arrive in multiple shipments” - haha. Let’s hope not, but if they use FedEx I suppose anything is possible.
