Been done. New 'bookers' wanna do their own thing-to show they're doing something.
ADDENDUM: one place in particular, the crowd loved us; we had 'regulars' who would come quite a distance when we were there. Owner didn't like our kind of music, even though the paying customers did. He be a four-door, 18 karat jackass.

For kicks I asked if the KC MF could help with another amp and they offered a used 600w for a lot more money. 
However, killing some time at lunch I explained the situation to Musician's Friend online chat I was able to get a good deal on a brand new one. I was given 10% off and asked to sign up for rewards which would gain credit to be used. Additionally the guy gave me an extra $20 in my credit. In the end, I will be be paying $13 more for brand new than for the b-stock returned head. I'm satisfied with that. They guy wanted to help, but was limited, yet came up with a way that works. Was even going to give me the $20 rewards even if I didn't want the amp. With the price of bass strings, spending that will not be a problem. Hopefully it won't buzz!
Now to sell the 500--or the little RM 300 EVO maybe... Sure would be less costly to ship at <5lbs. I need to list my Redburst G&L as well.

Yes, you are likely right as the ABM is more valuable/desirable, depending on wants I suppose. Just depends on shipping cost of the 31lb(?) 500. I might clear the same amount by shipping a 5lb head. It's one of the nice one's that has more goodies/knobs than the current versions. I like that it's got a headphone jack. Not to mention you don't hear the fan. I got both used, so depreciation already happened.

All comes down to your tonal needs.
My typical settings that seem to work great with any bass, with only a very minor adjustment to bass or mids. Very different from Chuck or V's settings. But my cabs have plenty of lows and low mids baked in.

Daughter, Son in Law, and grandson took my wife and I to a local French Bistro for lunch yesterday.
I enjoyed Boeuf Bourbignon very much.
Dinner with the other kids tonight.
(*Date is different to move it into early spring rather than winter. Also so it fits nicely spaced with other holidays).
