FYI the VP and CP are the same. The bolt on TRCs are wider.Speaking of which - does anyone here have a spare black Epiphone Tbird truss rod cover they’d be willing to part with?

That was meant for Richard, not George...blind and senile. What a combination. Can I throw in tone deaf for the trifecta?
return, trust me.....you may cook a speaker if you keep mucking around....Guts from when I checked the tube. (Not one present in this pic. Was a JJ.)
Only the tube means anything to me.

As a certified GOF, I...oh, look a gator. That was meant for Richard, not George...blind and senile. What a combination. Can I throw in tone deaf for the trifecta?
Quoting myself…I actually like my VP with the 760’s. It’s a nice difference from my Gibsons. I think the strings are a good match for the pickups as well. But, a little more low end could be even better, so now I can try these new Epiphone pups.
I get all the tonal variations I need on my 760 equipped Embassy with minor tweaks of its blend knob. Which is good 'cos I can't access the amp's knobs once we start(ed) playing.Quoting myself…
Last night playing the 760 equipped VP, I realized, while I like it, I will be looking forward to swapping the 760’s for the ones out of the broken ‘64.
Every time I switch back to using the VP (which stays parked at the studio) from playing other ‘birds I bring to the studio, I really have to make adjustments to the amp(s). Takes a bit of knob turning to bring on the lows and pull back the squawky mids.
Yes, planning to box it up this afternoon.return, trust me.....you may cook a speaker if you keep mucking around....

to sound that good, those amps only have thermal (no DC) protection meaning a discrepancy at the output usually results in a (or many) fried voice coil, has happened to me....hopefully you didn't break anything....Yes, planning to box it up this afternoon.
Thanks, and good eye on that fuse. It's dark for some reason and can't be good.
The craziest show I ever saw had the Dead Kennedys as headliners. It was at the Beacon on Broadway in New York, which was not exactly the right venue, but there it was. The mosh pit was pretty brutal at that show. Nobody left in an ambulance, but there sure were cuts and bruises that were going to stick around for a while. And everyone had a great time. It was a different era. There's not too much chance I would do any of those things now.Every track on that album is insanely great. It is one of the greatest records ever recorded. I had the honor of seeing them at the Civic on the tour for that album. Three plus hours of nonstop awesome! $7.50. GA. The mosh pit was crazy! No one got hurt. Everyone had a great time. I almost started to cry when they broke into Stay Free.
I had not thought of doing that. I get a bit fusion-ish with it at times, R&B-ish at other times. Two chord grooves lend themselves to all kinds of things. I'll listen to some early Fleetwood Mac and see how that might work. With drums, you can easily get into an early Fleetwood Mac vibe with that song.
Yeah, that was my experience with the VP. I like the 64 (sparkle bird) pickups better than the 760s but like the Thunderbucker VP even bit better most days.Quoting myself…

Uh, that was the other guys. Also awesome.
Especially now that one of them has '01 pickups.I have very little experience with the 2013 cases since I very rarely take them out of the house, but the Thunderbirds themselves from that year, in my opinion, are just perfect. Practically flawless.
You CAN improve on perfection.Especially now that one of them has '01 pickups.
I listened to it earlier and like it a lot. I haven't listened multiple times yet, so I don't have anything all that meaningful to say. That won't stop me. It never does. The bass sounds great. It's black and turquoise like a Thunderbird should be. Through a different amp, there could be a bit more green in the sound. Through a B-15 it has a little more blue. It doesn't have electric blue around the edges, but that's hard to get to come through. Stop time is tight, which is always a whole lot of fun. Some of the mix was a bit more cluttered than I prefer. Volume and arrangement changes where it goes from cluttered to sparse and back are great. I generally like sparser arrangements with each instrument playing more, rather than lots of instruments playing less, but that's my own personal take on the world and not a knock on other ways of making music.Hey, all. This guy has the whole album up to preview. Love to know what you think.

When I catch Nikki and the boys I will sometimes stand in front of her. But the sound is not great that close. I swear I have stood next to the same person at two shows. I was on the news staff at WREK (Ga Tech student station). I did an interview with the police chief after a problem. Campus police policy got changed as a result but I also got slammed by the station's assistant GM for the tone of the interview. Worth it. I ran something else I was proud of that evening that also caused me problems, but can't recall off the top of my head now what it was.Irrelevant fun fact: I was on air as a disk jockey at the radio station when I was a freshman in college when news of Sid Vicious' OD and death came over the ticker. We had a ticker. At the time, I was fresh off the turnip truck and wasn't fully aware of who he was. There was a factional issue at the radio station and I was nominally associated with the losing faction, so my radio career lasted about nine months.
