we get them in New England, never seen them in FL or CA...They’re pretty ubiquitous in this country, at least east of El Paso. A few areas west of that have them.

You should suggest they replace it with one of these.Yes, there's 4 or 5 feeding on the back deck any given time (among others). It's our state bird. Some some blue trash the people in Lexington would have preferred.I think Kentucky was the first state to choose a state bird.

I get them here all the time. They love sunflower seeds.we get them in New England, never seen them in FL or CA...

on everything.Maybe further northwest from Laud? Don't remember them but that could also be me...I get them here all the time. They love sunflower seeds.
And they love to "expel" them even more.I get them here all the time. They love sunflower seeds.
There have been some sightings in SoCal in the Whittier Narrows area by the City of Industry and Bolsa Chica near Huntington Beach. They’re not native. I’d love to see one someday. Much nicer than the nasty parrots spread out over parts of SoCal which have become noisy pests in some places.we get them in New England, never seen them in FL or CA...
Nah, we got 'em in Miami too. And I see them in the Orlando area.Maybe further northwest from Laud? Don't remember them but that could also be me...
do we sense more NR love coming this way?.......Hey Everybody! I've bee interested in the Epi Thunderbird Vintage Pro. Has there ever been any talk of them making a Non-reverse model?
Not by Epi.Hey Everybody! I've bee interested in the Epi Thunderbird Vintage Pro. Has there ever been any talk of them making a Non-reverse model?
Your bass, your call! Assuming you find a choppable or pre-chopped 64...dunno, for me the whole point of the Fenderbird is the snappiness of the maple fb along with the TB running gear...ymmv![]()
where's Rick?...Chumlee?...Some pics from the mini GTG we had at my house over the weekend. There were about 40 thunderbirds on hand including the few gems that Marshall brought and an interesting assortment of unique custom builds and rare basses Geo brought.
Marshall - Back in the USSR with Geo’s 3CP bass. It turned out to be a match made in heaven with the B-18N Flip Top.

Marshall’s 2015 is a sound to behold and gives me some ideas on how to improve mine.
He’ll have to post a pic of the newly wired control cavity on his Bicentennial bird, the proper series wiring made all the difference in the world, how she looked coming in…

Just not right, but all is good now that it’s wired correctly.

Geo brought a headless fanned fret 5 string that he made, its shockingly light with a very slim and comfy neck…

We all had a great time geeking out on basses amps and guitars, not to mention plenty of drinks and good food. I can’t wait to do it again and hopefully with an even bigger group next time!
Thanks for letting us in on this, Mike! You should suggest they replace it with one of these.

I s'pose a little 'splaining is in order.
The first Thunderbird I ever held(in'70)may have been a reverse. Long ago, don't remember. All I know is that I was blown away by the neck, so the quest began. However, I was playing mostly keys and sax at the time-along with my '66 EB-3, so it wasn't urgent. Two years later when I went back to playing bass, I took a gig in NYC to be able to "stalk" the 48th(?)street music stores to find one. That's when I found/was found by the '66NR. And that's the main bass I've been playing since '72. IOW, I'm used to the NR configuration. I've since held-not played-a reverse at a GC. Felt familiar but not quite right.
For me.
And now you know (most of) the rest of the story.
I know there are pockets in southern Arizona.I get them here all the time. They love sunflower seeds.
Nothing from NAMM this year that I'm aware of. (I didn't go, but have followed some of the news, especially Big/Epi.)Hey Everybody! I've bee interested in the Epi Thunderbird Vintage Pro. Has there ever been any talk of them making a Non-reverse model?
I guess... can't really think of a reason to replace the heavenly neck of a TBird for a 7ender one unless it is to move away from the rosewood fb, but that's just me....Your bass, your call!
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who doesn't "get" a 7enderbird.I guess... can't really think of a reason to replace the heavenly neck of a TBird for a 7ender one unless it is to move away from the rosewood fb, but that's just me....
Not that I’m aware of, that’s why I ended up making my own. If Eppi does jump on that band wagon I’m all in.Hey Everybody! I've bee interested in the Epi Thunderbird Vintage Pro. Has there ever been any talk of them making a Non-reverse model?
Still checking things out but there's definitely love.do we sense more NR love coming this way?.......
