Thunderbird Club

A strange thought just crossed my little pea brain - I wonder if my Greco birds (which are pretty much balls to the wall basses) are wired in series? I’ve never checked, just assumed massive pups in parallel, but they sure sound like a series wired bass. I’ll have to check when I get home.
If so, what would you expect on a VP?

Snow day P-Bird..Sorta halfway a Thunderbird I guess
I thought about re-routing for a T-Bird humbucker, but every time I get it out of the case it sounds so damn good like it is.
Cheers.

I'm pretty sure mine are in parallel. But they're at home (unless they went out galavanting) and I'm downtown today.

I can vouch for southern FL since 1977, but the panhandle(AKA south AL)has already had some. Which is why I don't go up thataway.
Was waiting for the school bus on A1A in '76 when snow started coming down....having moved there from the northeast I didn't understand why the local kids were running around screaming.....

The water on the California coast, all the way down through central America, is cooler than the water in the Caribbean or south Pacific. Probably because it gets deeper faster, doesn't have the same coastal reefs, and gets more cold, Arctic currents (Antarctic in the southern hemisphere). I don't know what water temperatures are like off of New Zeeland. That may be more like the Pacific Ocean here.

The water off the bottom of the NZ South Island is cold. Further north is warmer but not as warm as the Queensland coast.
Note though that reportedly the water off both the Australian east coast and off NZ is progressively warming.

Ice storm in Monroe, LA in 1981 shut down everything for a week.
Oh, yeah. I've been through several of those situations in Georgia and here. We stock up and batten down the hatches and pray the utilities stay on, with whatever contingency plans we can make if they fail.

Hey all. I’ve been a little bit more chatty lately…Sorry about that. I just have a little bit more time on my hands currently.
I wanted to contribute to the Bicentennial discussion.
I opened the control cover for the first time that I’m aware of. I wanted to show the original untouched wiring set up.
I got mine on trade at a local music store as it came in the door from someone who could not handle the big bird.
That was late 77 or maybe early 78.
I was A Rick player through the 70’s and 80’s.
The owner and I had a friendly relationship.
He looked at me and said you NEED this. I wasn’t even looking.😎
I walked out with the bird without even paying for it.
He said bring back that ‘75 P Bass that I sold you (new)and $100 bucks and we’ll call it even.
So…A Thunderbird has chosen all of us in different ways.
This is the one that brought me to this club..

Now because of all of the enablers here I might have to attend some T-Bird annon meetings. 😎
Sure hope George is not my sponsor..
Any wear which is very little is all mine.
Mrs Gator has been enjoying snow case opening this week. She appreciates vintage aged gear.
Like me. 😆
Cheers!

Stunning.

Do you have the covers? Even without them, that one is worth some serious coin so long as there isn’t a collapse in the market. Maybe check and update your rider. It’s certainly more valuable than that’ ‘75 P you traded for it.

Opening still for my novel Harrington’s View whose protagonist is a troubled musician whose primary instrument is the bass guitar having a space dream -a lesson in artistic interpretation-

Interestingly I had shown my illustrator a picture of a P-Bass and a Stratocaster (the latter for another illustration). So here you see the result being a six string Jazz bass which, as far as I know, does not exist!

Mind you it’s mostly finished with a bit more inking to do-
