Thunderbird Club

So this relative finally learned what NR stands for in the T-Bird lexicon but what is “BaCH”?
LOL - In this case it could mean BaCH to the Future. :roflmao:

Seriously, it’s the original builder of a very limited run of Non Reverse Tbirds decades ago. They were made on special request for a few people in this club and another bass chat website by a guitar builder in the Czech Republic. Great basses and fairly true to the original NR birds from the 1960’s.

Hope you got to drive it.

Rob @Basvarken was instrumental in getting them built. The idea was to produce an affordable NR with good bones that was easily upgradable so players could have what Gibson was unwilling to make up to that point. They are very rare. And great Thunderbirds with fantastic necks.

That's going to be great!
I have my fingers crossed.

Let me just say..Holy crap that's going to be awesome.
And even if it isn’t, it’s been a fun journey. I was actually able to acquire all the electronics for much less than I anticipated.

North basses are amazing!
I’m usually amazed when they work as I planned. This one is a leap of faith. If it sounds half as good as either of our bicentennial birds I’ll be a really happy camper.

It will.

“so players could have what Gibson was unwilling to make up to that point”
…and that sums up exactly why I’ve undertaken the bicentennial upgrade. It’s something that Gibson coulda/shoulda done but didn’t.

Thanks for confirming I need lessons.

Well done!
I read a short paperback book on Radiohead about how they got together up to their breakthrough LP "OK Computer". If you are a Radiohead fan, I highly recommend it. Bass-player Colin Greenwood (brother of Jonny Greenwood on guitar) used some of the money they got from that seminal LP sales to pay for bass lessons. That blew me away because I consider him one of my favorite bass players and that he used his well deserved riches to further his music knowledge just made me appreciate him and his playing more.

His playing on this is a good example of why I hold him in high regard -

But absolutely necessary for 5string's patented "Frito Pie of Death"!

Fritos
Can of Wolf brand
Chopped onion
More cheese than necessary (American, if you're feeling particularly suicidal)
3 or 4 of the canned tamales

Toss chili, cheese, and tamales in a bowl and heat in microwave. Add onion and Fritos after heating.

I haven't eaten this in 10-15 years, as l did indeed get wiser with age.

Skip dessert.🤢🤮
That is dessert.
