1.625" at the nut. The string bed is 1" deep at the nut and I'd definitely call it a C shaped neck.

What do you think of the pickups on the Epi NR? I've read that they are no good, but I don't think that was from within the Thunderbird Club.
As they say "Ask the man that owns one" . @Nocturnal - you may want to chip in ?

White or ebony. Decisions, decisions. I'm leaning toward white at this point. But I won't decide until I see both in the flesh.

My brother had an ex-SCCA C-Sedan class Mini Cooper. It wasn't even remotely street legal, but it was plated and had lights and turn signals. Kinda. It scared the crap outta him, but I loved it. There was something bent in the steering gear, which meant I got really good at swapping out front wheel bearings. It was an absolute rocket, and you could come screaming up to a corner, downshift to get the front a little squirrely, yank the handbrake to cut the back loose, and the romp on it to go around the corner with the most amazingly lurid out of control slide you can imagine. It had a huge Webber carb with velocity stacks that stuck into the passenger compartment. There was probably a flame arrester on there somewhere when it was an officially sanctioned race car, but not when we had it. So, when it backfired, it would shoot flames about three feet past the gearshift. It was a complete blast. And one more proof that there's a God who likes the entertainment. Otherwise, my continued existence on this planet can't be explained.

Hah! When I bought my '64 T-bird II in '78, the east-coast vintage dealer I bought it from also had a '64 T-bird IV for $50 more. I wanted the IV but couldn't afford the extra $50. (what does one bag of groceries cost now?...) :rolleyes: Believe me - my (modded) "IV" is TWICE as angry as when it was a II :bassist: ;)

It went a lot faster than walking. Just saying. I upset a few people at stop lights with it. Low mass is it's own reward. I could out run them in other ways, because it would turn and stop. Muscle cars don't do that very well.

Oh yes, I know. :) They were still a go to for the young guys when I was growing up.
The last 4 cylinder to win Bathurst before the Sierra Turbobombs were the Mini Cooper S in (memory) 65/66. Then all V8s (except a lone 6 cyl Torana XU-1) for the next ~20 years.
And the NSW Police used them as pursuit vehicles for a while when I was very young.

The Torana was an interesting case. Started as a Vauxhall Viva clone and morphed through 6cyls being shoved in its (extended) nose, through to a Chevy Monza alike with 4,6 & V8 levels, sedans and sports styled 2dr hatchback coupe.
