The stuff I play now has very little in common. Well, aside from having a mediocre bass player. Nothing I do on bass or drums is much like metal. Then again, one band in particular is next to impossible to categorize. We do everything from straight ahead rockabilly to Amy Winehouse songs turned inside out with a bowed bass, no synth, and a noisy guitar. We were talking about twisting a Metallica song into what we do. So, there's the start to a metal career.

As far as a downtuned, 'Bird shaped upright, I might have to hang out with the luthiers for a long time before figuring out how to do that. It would be pretty outrageous. It would also have to be Cadillac Burgandy Mist. Just because a metallic pink bass shaped like that and that sounds like that would be even harder for a normal person to comprehend.

Hey, ya got nothin on Northern Kentucky...
Thirty minutes south of Cincinnati is the town of Beaver Lick and 5 minutes past that is Big Bone Lick state park and Sugar Tit Kentucky. All just around the corner from Rabbit Hash Kentucky. I kid you not. :jawdrop:

If your roommate lives in Sarnia... then wouldn’t you too? Lol
Sarnia gets a bad rap, it’s not that bad, just boring. It’s starting to clean up downtown finally too. Although I think we are starting to get pretty high (no pun intended) on the meth-head per capita ratio.

No, we go to school in Hamilton.
The meth-head thing was my main point in the sly Sarnia jab earlier.

Gotcha. Yeah, I live in a nice neighborhood but a few blocks away is some low rental townhouses, and everyone around me has had their car broken into, including me, middle of the day when I was home for lunch, left my truck unlocked, and someone cleaned out the change in the door for about $50. Just glad I didn’t leave my wallet in there like I have a bad habit of doing.

So does my dad :roflmao:
At my old place in town, years ago, someone kept stealing my parents CD's... I still miss the Jan & Dean and Beach Boys CD's. He also left his phone and prescription sunglasses in his truck when getting an oil change... both were stolen!

Sweet! I did make a 218 prototype I used for awhile, but I rarely need that much cab. Now when I do, I just stack two 1822’s. It’s pretty fun :)
We are working up plans for a 315 That has an unusual speaker orientation. Looking forward to breaking ground on that one :)

Man, I wish I could find it, but I once saw a video of a Japanese metal band that used slap upright and it sounded terrific. The Prayer Flags guys want me to start using upright. I can see how it could be cool...maybe someday!

Here's a metal version containing a Spector Bird, and the lead guitarist is a Toronto native!
Side note: the person I bought my black Thunderbird from lives near Toronto, and has two Chris Kael, stage played and signed, signature Spector basses...
