Thunderbird Club

The P's on the pick guard (scratch plate), right? No problem, just need a new one. Doesn't matter what it looks like underneath.

Yes, correct

I would have no interest whatsoever if the seller had no interest in me. Sounds like fate giving you the heads up on this transaction. Good luck with what you decide Dude, be careful.

He wanted me to confirm I’d take it with a new case and courier. I asked for a ballpark figure before I’d confirm. Since then crickets...

It’s 9 hours drive away, I also offered to meet him halfway as an option in the courier answer. Which I can see why he wouldn’t as it’s a cheap bass but still... just answer.

South Dakota, where the mountain eradication program is now complete. Stay safe! It's hard to stay awake when the road is dead straight and the scenery never changes.
In my province of Manitoba its known fact that you can watch your dog run away for 3 days straight. If ones eyes were strong enough one could stand at the Ontario border and see straight through Manitoba and Saskatchewan all the way to Alberta before the landscape changes.:meh:

Good to know! I will reach out to them again...

If you have time or a chance, I’d love you to contrast it against the Epi Classic Pro that it replaces.

If I had money, I'd be all over that.

Holy moly! I checked the price and just choked on my Asian Salad.
(Also glad I wasn’t eating the cucumber at the time)

Did you see me waving last week?

NRs sank like a stone when they came out. I bought my first in 77 mainly because I loved the sound and I could get to the upper register and it was cheap! I am sure the House of Guitars could not believe their good fortune to sell a bass that had been sitting there for years with six others. The neck was beefy compaired to my 76 Ibanez Destroyer and 76 Thunderbird and the reach was unbelievably long, fortunately I have long gibbon like arms. I worked with playing that bass for a year before I could manage it. I am glad I stuck with it. The Nonreverse Thunderbird isn't for everyone but it is for me. It's now part of my "image" my identity and has even provided me with some fame and income.
From what I see in your avatar? You wear it well brother.

Such a unique character. Too bad the Heroin got a hold of him.

The Dude Pit was a fun place. I met my best friend there (Chromium, or Joe as I call him.) My wife likes to tell people that Joe is my "internet boyfriend I met on the Dudepit".

I have met Mark/Veronica/Our Queen in person. We had dinner, beers and then played his Thunderbirds.

Bill, Drbassman was a great guy. For his

Bill "Dr. Bassman" seemed like such a great guy and I really miss his postings at The Outpost.

Calling hours the line was out the door . I thought I was the only one who had a special connection with him. Seems that he had a special connection with everyone he came in contact with.

It's a great to have spoken with you on the phone Scott, you are, as they say, "the real deal" and I'm always glad and proud to have made your acquaintance across the miles!

The Dude Pit was the Wild West! I still miss it, it led me to Chrome, Thunderbirds and really coming out as Veronica. Who knew I'd meet Uwe and his wife, or that I'll be traveling halfway across the world to them again. I miss Bill, he was a really nice, sweet guy aside from building some really cool bases.

I did a show in Regina Saskatchewan, flown up there for the gig. Definitely big country.

Silly guy!, how could I?. The Ontario border literally starts the change in landscape, staring East from there you have about less than 100 metres of straight vision and thats it. Its like Ontario and Alberta cut Manitoba and Saskatchewan out of the landscaping game. Go on!, get out of here!, you keep your blank canvas and we'll take our precious natural beauty with us.

Joke ruiner.
I had a brain fart, forgot that Sarnia wasn't the end of the line... well it is in more ways than one, but not in this discussion. And I couldn't play off that I was in Kenora, cause that's a 21 hour drive

Kenora is 1 hour and 40 minutes away from me and it is Beautiful, its still a small town and its got that old world mountainside country vibe.

Guy I worked with has two daughters, both teachers, the older one was my grade 10 English teacher, the younger one taught in Kenora for awhile. She said basically the same thing you did.

Of course not. He was looking the other way - towards the foothills of the rockies.
