Can't say I've ever seen dual caps on a tone pot. Looks like they're in parallel, so what does this accomplish vs just a single cap?

Congrats!! Gibson was all over the place with the color of the cases for a while. Brown/Pink, Black/White, Black/Black but not sure what years they used what color.
