Thunderbird Club

I drove 18 wheelers for 23 years, during which time I had 4 wheelers go by me the wrong way on the interstate about 14 times, promptly inducing maximum pucker factor:eek:
I rode a sportbike home from Portland, Oregon to Seattle, Washington in a heavy snowstorm. It was missing a footpeg at the time, because a moron backed into it and knocked it over while it was stationary before I rode it home. It was pretty entertaining, if stupid. Nothing like near slicks in snow when you only have two of 'em. Traction is for wimps.

Hey CB, i had the B7K a while back, i thought it was a little brittle sounding. I currently have the B7K ultra, has some added eq points, and to my ears is much warmer sounding.
Very organic, and a lot of tones on tap. There's no tube in it though. What type of sound are you looking to add? If it were me, i'd get the Aguilar Tone Hammer over the B7K.
But the DG Vintage Ultra and B7Ku are tops in my book.
Merely curious. I like my Trace 250SMX, but Plan 9 is into recording now, and with all the buzz about Darkglass, I just thought I'd check with people I kind of know.
Thanks for the note on it!

I was able to use my Epi Vintage Pro in a band setting today. Had our first rehearsal with a full band (Bass, drums, Guitar, Singer/Guitarist) in a rehearsal studio. Provided backline was a 90's Ampeg SVT with an 8X10. The bass sounded fantastic and the rest of the guys liked it as well. Glad I was finally able to really test it out to see if it cut thru.

BTW, It fit in my Gibson BlackBird case. The body section wasn't perfect but I was able to safely transport the bass without issue.

I still have my ohsc but the head end is busted out. There aren't any shops(luggage repair, etc)near me. IF I was using it out more-or traveling-I'd get a custom case made. Also,I used to play mine 6 nights a week through a 70's SVT/810 rig. Awesome. Especially 'cause the gear stayed in the hotel lounge on a roughly 4 foot high stage. Walk in,plug in,play and go home. Those were the days.:D

Just thought of a negative side:I'll prolly see something in there I have to have, can't find and certainly can't afford.:banghead:

It's a great book.
I particularly need to regularly avoid pages 142 and 143. Damn BFG Les Paul Bass! Love one, but never seen one for sale. My son has a six string one in goldtop- stunning.
I have a couple of LP Basses- next best thing to TBirds.

Were yours Cobalt Flats (not Rounds)?
I would expect flats to last a good long time (maybe years).
Kinda concerning if yours were flats and they went dead quick.

They are the flats G. I got about 3 months out of them. They were great for the first month. But once my jeff mojo went to work on them.............

Well y'all… big sh!t goin' on with theFixer! You may notice a somewhat decreased presence for the next few days, as I'm moving into my own place! I'm moving back to my home town of Battle Creek. I gotta job opportunity with someone that's willing to work with my back issues… and for the first time, since losing my family 3 years ago… I'm steppin' back out into the real world! For anyone who's into signs that you're on the right track… I gotta place in "Thunderbird Village"

Great to hear, Mike!

Onward and upwards!

Really, Jeff?

Aaaaahhhhemmmm...

Ok, time to put this one to rest, of course no one is going to believe this. When i was at Delta, this was an airline joke. Cause nothing hardly ever came off a flight in one piece. Especially freight, or a poorly packaged box.
Let alone the luggage that was coming undone, because they were crammed full of junk beyond belief.

We, yes all of us, need to see at least 5 pics of that '67 well lit from different angles. Chop chop! :)
My(flip)phone takes really crappy pics. I'll have My brother-in-law,who actually KNOWS what to do shoot 'em for me.I have one each of the '67 and the 5 string Epi-bird posted earlier.IF I can find those,I'll re-post.:)I'll even throw in a shot of my flame amber '96 Les Paul 5 string:D

I saw a 1 pic cartoon that showed 2 postal workers. The guy in front had just tossed a package over his shoulder saying"I wonder what fra-gill-ee" means:roflmao:
