Interesting, when I did my maple/maple neck a satin vintage tint was about $100. I ended up buying two necks, a black blocked and bound vintage tinted satin finish maple/maple neck, and a rosewood/rosewood neck, the rosewood neck ended up cheaper than the maple neck, must have been the block and binding.

Oh man, they have a really nice site. Already thinking of a black bodied white pickguard maple neck/fingerboard fretless P Bass.....I should have NEVER visited that site!:rollno::rollno:

Unless you have spare parts laying around plan on at least $400 for the bridge, tuners, pickup, neck plate, neck bolts, strap pins, nut, knobs, string tree and strings. If you go on the cheap side you can squeek buy for around $1200 on a Warmoth build but most will be in the $1400 to $1500 price range, one of mine was about $1800 and that was back in 2008. Quality and sound wise it compares favorably to a $2500 bass. Resale wise, I'd take less loss if I parted it out, but it's a special bass to me so I don't ever plan on selling it.

GC is in trouble and it just might be that there's too many guitars, new and used, on the market. Could also be that many, like myself, don't "need" anymore instruments... currently holding at 6 basses and had 9 at one point. I think my sweet spot would be 4 or 5.

Its also a stale product mix, very little selection unless you want an Ibanez or 7ender or one of the 4 kinds of strings they stock, and help that knows less than any of us.

The other thing I've noticed(and I know they work on commission)is they're always pushing big stuff for big bucks. Most of the salesmen I've run into are younger than my bass.
