I tried but playing righty felt so I natural to me. Lefty felt right even before I could play. Man, I'd have sooo many bad ass basses, cheap if I wasn't lefty. For one, I'd have a 76 bird, several classic epis, a Brooklyn era Spector NS2, ect. Everything I have is custom or massively modded. Oah, I'd have a white 70s P bass too!
Although I'm a righty at pretty much everything when I first picked up a bass playing it lefty felt so much better. But I ended up learning it righty since there were many more basses for rightys and also much cheaper. Now trying to play lefty just seems impossible, and I'm like how did I even found that comfortable?

Shout out to Larry V. Got the black pickguard for my Epi Classic IV Pro. I'm in love. I'm also the world's worst iPhone photographer - these pix do not do it justice at all. The gold on the logo is just magnificent, matches the Epiphone logo on the truss rod cover perfectly.
Fit was outstanding, and every screw hole lined up perfectly. Thank you Larry!!

I've been lurking this thread for quite some time and finally decided to post.
Last year I started writing songs with a co-worker and I still had my beginners bass(started 5 years ago), so I played with his - a Blackbird. Although it has no soundmodifying options I liked the playability, feel and tone so I digged in to T-Birds I could afford and ended up with this(sorry for the bad quality pic):

Got it at a local store. Not set up well, alot of fretbuzz, so I set it up with higher action(~ 3mm - about 1/8" - on the 12th fret). It still felt good on my hands, so I nonetheless bought it.

I love it's tone, so I started gasing for more; when I stumbled across an amazon add for a AW Epi - they don't sell them here anymore - I ordered it(arrived this Wed):

Came out of the box with a total straight neck, set it up with lower action than the pro still having the stock strings on, but they're good enough t go atm. Will order dunlops next month.

Still gasing for a HC Gibson, but I haven't got the money right now - same for a new amp.

After a lot of soul-searching, Ive decided that I'm going to re-finish the transparent green "Warbird" bass that I made a few months back.

The green was an accidental colour ( as the supplier sent the wrong laquer out ) so I've never been that satisfied with it ( as I wanted blue ).

Anyhoo, decided to go a bit more traditional with the look and opt for Pelham blue with a brushed aluminium scratchplate.

It'll be a shame to cover the burr elm wing laminate but ive decided.

Pics once I've started.

Is there a significant weight difference between the Gotoh GB7 and GB707? It appears the 707's are the lightweight ones, but I can't seem to find anything on the net that says what the real difference is.
The paddles are different.

The GB350 is lightweight, 'res-o-lite', same paddle as the 707. 1.4 oz. Not Cheap.

I really liked that green............. Just sayin'

Carlo, that pricing is for an individual tuning key? If so that would add up quickly. I have seen complete sets on eBay sell for more reasonable prices. Those are nice keys tho. I have them on my Warmoth Bird and they work great!

That's list price for one. Dealers get half off that price so I'm sure you can get them cheaper on Ebay. I use the Res-O-Lite GBR640 keys to replace vintage Reverse Kluson 'Elephant Ears' on 60s-70s 'Birds and Fneders. They really make a difference for those applications but the weight saving over regular Y tuners isn't worth the extra $$ for the GB350s IMO.

Wanting to join this club but I can't decide between the Epiphone T-Bird Pro, Classic, or Goth IV
Classic IV...unless you can find a Pro IV in excellent shape for a real good price in the color you want.
I'm planning on buying the Classic in Alpine White but I missed this Pro IV a month ago for $265...excellent shape...because I didn't jump on it.

I would've been very happy with it, that's for sure.

I loved the active electronics on my Pro IV...sure, some people don't...but maybe they never tried one with flatwounds.
Mine sounded very ominous.

Someone's is selling that orange sunbirst bass in my vincinity - icluding a warwick gigbag. If I had the money I might jump on it. But my dark VSB is totally fine. I love the electronics, but our main composer doesn't like the sounds. He said it's to dominating.

btw can I join this club?
