Shout out to Larry V. Got the black pickguard for my Epi Classic IV Pro. I'm in love. I'm also the world's worst iPhone photographer - these pix do not do it justice at all. The gold on the logo is just magnificent, matches the Epiphone logo on the truss rod cover perfectly.
Fit was outstanding, and every screw hole lined up perfectly. Thank you Larry!!

That looks so sweet with a black PG, it makes you wonder why vintage sunburst birds comes with white PG's in the first place...

Someone's is selling that orange sunbirst bass in my vincinity - icluding a warwick gigbag. If I had the money I might jump on it. But my dark VSB is totally fine. I love the electronics, but our main composer doesn't like the sounds. He said it's to dominating.

Judging by the non-flaking strings, it either hasn't been played much or the strings are brand new...

Just a little update: sweet baby jesus on fire I think I'm in love. Honestly I didn't think the epiphone would sound that great but this thing brings the thunder. It's pretty much on point with my actives. I'm really impressed and I think I'm gonna plan to get another in the near future.

I've been lurking this thread for quite some time and finally decided to post.
Last year I started writing songs with a co-worker and I still had my beginners bass(started 5 years ago), so I played with his - a Blackbird. Although it has no soundmodifying options I liked the playability, feel and tone so I digged in to T-Birds I could afford and ended up with this(sorry for the bad quality pic):

Got it at a local store. Not set up well, alot of fretbuzz, so I set it up with higher action(~ 3mm - about 1/8" - on the 12th fret). It still felt good on my hands, so I nonetheless bought it.

I love it's tone, so I started gasing for more; when I stumbled across an amazon add for a AW Epi - they don't sell them here anymore - I ordered it(arrived this Wed):

Came out of the box with a total straight neck, set it up with lower action than the pro still having the stock strings on, but they're good enough t go atm. Will order dunlops next month.

Still gasing for a HC Gibson, but I haven't got the money right now - same for a new amp.

I would love to but I need a case for the Pro and we are still trying to find a house. The Spousal Unit has a temp kabosh on spending, except for the case. Either hard or a Reunion Blues.

Both are the same price but the Pro I can get as soon as I get paid on Friday, the classic I would have to backorder. (Unless you know another site other than Sweetwater I can order from that does payment plans without running a credit check)

Yes, but one is active the other passive that would help me make a choice. Both are good but they'll sound quite different, the Classic being far more faithful in tone.

The 3-point bridge isn't as good as the bridge on the Pro IV...point of conjecture. Plenty of posts here as to why.
If I do buy the Classic IV the first thing I'll do is replace the bridge with a Babicz 3-point bridge...the best, IMO.

I have a serious dislike for three point's lack of adjustability. Not everybody feels that way. I believe its because they're wrong.

Stay away! I want that one!!! Get the natural if you must but I want that sunburst. I'm not sure how many they have in stock right now. After Friday you can get one after I've ordered mine lol
