Gold hardware on the right bass can look great, but it almost always makes it look more formal. IMHO That's a nice look on coffee table basses with exotic woods or maybe certain solid color basses but not so much on Burst finishes. With the exception of the gold bullion anniversary TBird I don't think gold hardware looks right on TBirds in general. Now if Gibby made an exotic wood bass I would probably lean towards gold hardware on it. Wake me up when you find a Cocobolo or Buckeye Burl top bird.
