I mean just look how nicely that bass in the foreground sits in the guitar rack.
Never seen Pete proudly show his guitar rack front and center on stage like that before.

Same. Gold can make the "right" instrument look really good... but (in my opinion, of course) they are a distinct minority. Gold's kinda a pain in the arse too. It shows everything, and it's hard to clean, and it's softer so it wears out quickly from all the cleaning (not to mention string changes & stuff), so ya wind up with a shiny new looking instrument with worn out old looking hardware. Show me a used instrument with it's original gold hardware intact, & I'll show you an instrument that never came outa the case
