Not to preach to the choir in stating the obvious but marginal cords can do some funky sh1t too..Mine is a 2013 and has done it since I got a pickup swap.Definitely sounds like the same thing. I dropped it off with a really good tech just now so hopefully he sorts it out.

I'm still getting used to/ learning about T-birds so the best answer that I can give at this point is what the seller told me:

The pickups are Gibson pickups but changed to chrome pickup covers and rings.
The bridge was changed to a Gibson mixed black/chrome.
The tuners were changed to chrome ones and a bass extender added.
For my own edification, I'll be pulling the pups to get the exact make/ model soon as well as ID'ing all of the other parts/ add-ons, etc. I like to document the whole instrument's parts, like I've done with all other used instruments that I've picked up over the years. How can one GAS for something new and different if you don't know exactly what you don't have yet
In the meantime, I've been enjoying the amazing sounds that the T-bird is adding to my bag of tricks

This is the first bass that I've had one on and I agree with you! I'll be adding one to all of my 4 stringers
When you say TB+, why the +? Is there other stock TB humbuckers? If so, does the + denote a date? A type?

Looks like the TB+s with the Philly luthier covers on, I did the same to my Classic Pro
It's just what Gibson called them, as far as I know all the variations of the black plastic covered buckers are called TB+ even though there are (I think) 4 versions, I have 3 versions between my Gibson, Classic Pro and the ones I got from Scott in my Bumperbird
