If you are looking for a bass straight to head review, I can tell you that the basis of my choice of head & cab was made by comparing exactly that, just my bass through the head and my cab (Ampeg 610HLF). I'm having a very hard time choosing between the two. My eyes say that the CL just looks 'right' on the cabinet, but my ears keep pulling me back to the PRO.
Full disclosure, for practice at home, I use an Ampeg BA-115 (so, I really like Ampeg :cool:) and I also play through a Rumble 500 head/ Rumble 410 cab (sometimes I'll use my 2 Fender 410's with my PRO 4 when I want the air movement of an 810)
Sorry to ramble but it's Saturday morning and I'm not paid to think on the weekends :roflmao:

The CL certainly looks better. I’m just surprised that it doesn’t have as much clean headroom as I expected. I figured it would be tough to get it to grind at lower volumes, but boy was I wrong. It’s a powerful amp for sure, but I gotta say the 4-PRO has got it beat for sheer volume, and for a louder cleaner sound. I’ll know more about it tonight at our gig.

I knew David Brailsford (team manager) when he was younger, he used to hang around with us in our pub for some reason which I forget. If I remember rightly he rode for team Sky then too or he was involved managerially with them or something, I remember he was bragging about the bikes he had on the roof of his car once. I was into cycling back then and he showed us the bikes and they were serious quality things, I remember things like the gearsets where totally state of the art, not even available for the like of us to buy, even in the next year or so

Those were a real liability during that show. Stage diving over fixed seats is a really bad move. There was plenty of blood and bruises in the audience. I'm not sure if there were any broken bones, but it wouldn't surprise me if there were plenty by the end of the evening. It was completely nuts, and an absolute blast to have been a part of.

I have a challenge for you. If you can... put yourself in a room with your cab, but not where you can see which head you're playing through. Have a friend switch the heads back & forth. Pick your favorite sound with your ears, not your eyes:thumbsup:
