Thunderbird Club

It does alright, not quite as much top end as the two old SBX's I have, I actually bought it used for a pretty price just to keep upstairs and not have to haul cabs back and forth to the basement rehearsal space. Of late though, the SBX's are both upstairs and I use them for solo practice and the GLX is for rehearsal and shows. FWIW I'm probably going to cosign the SBX's and use them to help fund a Bergantino 6x10.

Not great tone here, cameras don't record bands very well, plus it's way off to one side

Nice venue. Sea?

Gibson released the 2019 lineup. Includes a Thunderbird, an SG (30”), and the EB-4 and EB-5 “modern” designs (the EBs come with gig bags, not cases). Not sure about prices. They do have a bright red Firebird. The guitars are an interesting mix. We’ll see if this saves yhem.

Was just going to post about that.
Sweetwater has got some, Birds are a pre-order.

Got a link? I would like to take a look.

Yeah, I wanted to be a little "punk" with the schoolgirl plaid skirt and the ripped fishnest stockings, that stage is pretty cramped for foot room, I wore heels there once - only once! The Swiss is in downtown Tacoma, actually a pretty nice venue, easy load in, the stage is kinda boomy but the FOH is good.

I am pretty sure you could toss my bolt on Epi into the ocean, then tow it to Japan behind an oil tanker and nothing would happen to the finish. I don't know what the poly really is, but when archaeologists dig it up in 10,000 years, it will still be shiny.
I’ve had thoughts of buying an Epi body and refinishing it for a Fenderbird, but then I considered the task of stripping the poly. It would probably be easier to build a body from scratch.

Dude! Black shoes with brown!? And don't try to claim that it is too much trouble to pack two pairs of shoes. Travel with oxblood (burgundy) shoes - they go with brown, blue, green, and grey suits.
LOL - I had just stepped out for lunch after wrapping up the first leg of a plant inspection. Those weren't even my shoes, some loaner steel toes. It was those or strap on steel clapper over toes, I chose wisely.

Also note, I'm not wearing a suit (kaki dockers with a sweater pulled over a cream colored button down oxford shirt and covered in a London Fog raincoat. More importantly, in a professional international corporate environment three things will immediately get you laughed out of a board meeting - a brown suit, a green suit and a grey suit. Black or Navy Blue suits are the base expectation, both with black wingtips and belt. Oxblood leather would be a faux pas.

If I didn't need to be concerned with initial impressions I'd go wild on the shirt and tie. Always traveled with two white shirts and red ties just to be safe but all my other shirts were button down pastels (pink, purple, coral, cream yellow, pale green) and my ties were frequently Jerry Garcia and Rush Limbaugh creations.

In the Lambo pic I'm wearing my casual work shoes. Notice the nicely coordinated black shoes, black belt and black hardrock golf shirt (not to mention the black ride).

rental of that car in S'pore must have cost a fortune,....heck it costs 20k just to get permission to purchase a vehicle..
It wasn't cheap but it was needed for the task at hand.
Never had to buy a car in Singapore but IIRC the tax for owning a car was something like 100%. Not sure if that was a one time at purchase or an annual tax but either way it's a bunch when you're talking about exotic sports cars, which by the way were so abundant on the main streets in Singapore they made the Porsches look downright boring. There's an insane amount of money everywhere on display in Singapore.

I told you not to mention that:smug:

Yeah pretty crazy. The Raffles Hotel parking lot looks like an all year round Concours. The CEO of the company I worked for had an F40... Pretty ridiculous considering it's a very small island with stiff traffic laws, at least you can open them up in Dubai..
