LOL - I had just stepped out for lunch after wrapping up the first leg of a plant inspection. Those weren't even my shoes, some loaner steel toes. It was those or strap on steel clapper over toes, I chose wisely.

Also note, I'm not wearing a suit (kaki dockers with a sweater pulled over a cream colored button down oxford shirt and covered in a London Fog raincoat. More importantly, in a professional international corporate environment three things will immediately get you laughed out of a board meeting - a brown suit, a green suit and a grey suit. Black or Navy Blue suits are the base expectation, both with black wingtips and belt. Oxblood leather would be a faux pas.

If I didn't need to be concerned with initial impressions I'd go wild on the shirt and tie. Always traveled with two white shirts and red ties just to be safe but all my other shirts were button down pastels (pink, purple, coral, cream yellow, pale green) and my ties were frequently Jerry Garcia and Rush Limbaugh creations.

In the Lambo pic I'm wearing my casual work shoes. Notice the nicely coordinated black shoes, black belt and black hardrock golf shirt (not to mention the black ride).

Loaner shoes? I won't do that. If I had to, I would go into town and buy safety boots if I had to (and expense them later).

One of the joys of international entrepreneurship; some fashion freedom. I have a couple of white shirts, but I tend toward colours. French cuffs with interesting cufflinks. And I wear bowties - I get noticed and remembered; that is important when you are a small company and need to make a big impression. My favourite bowtie has little skulls and crossed bones on the back. It goes with the skull socks.

And for what it is worth, meetings with investment bankers always go well if you wear Motorhead socks...

Quite a bit different in the corporate world.

Every plant has loaner or guest safety shoes, they'd be insulted if you turned theirs down. And never travel with safety shoes, airport security gets confounded with chunks of steel popping up on the X-ray screen. Just plan on loaners being available when needed. The challenge is knowing your approximate shoe size in each region.

Get composite toe boots. They have the same safety rating as steels.

Ha! I was wearing pink slippers at a plant in Japan last time around cause they were the only ones that somewhat fit..:laugh::laugh::laugh: Not a happy camper...:rollno::rollno:

SWAMP ASH BODY?! o_O:confused::sour:

I meant to mention that. Some copy editor screwed up. Every other site says mahogany. I use that link because it's the most comprehensive I had run across. A number of links have the guitars (including that droolably red Firebird), but don't include the bass models.
