It's far worse in Northern California than in the LA area, so far as I can tell. It's not good either place.I've heard 40% contained and a couple of weeks before it's out ~

Yeah, it's fine. It hangs very differently from the NR. When I first tried it out the guy at the store(M.A.E.-Ft. Laud) hooked it up to some big amp. I turned off the volume on the bass. I just wanted to see how it felt, I knew it would sound good. Thought about it on the way home to WPB. Called the next day and bought it. I wasn't playing at the time but I didn't wanna let it get away. I'd never paid attention to the binding thing but, no, it doesn't have binding, just a smoothly rolled edge. It's definitely thicker than either 'Bird but I don't think it's as thick as a Les Paul guitar. The top isn't carved like the guitars, just a flat sheet of maple.was meaning to ask you. I remember the std Les Paul bass being somewhat uncomfortable due to the thickness of the body and the sharp edge of the bound top. Yours does not seem to have binding. aside from the weight is it comfortable? how's the balance? Always wanted a LP bass..
this hasn't sold yet? @JJR58 is this the one you were talking about?..
Gibson Thunderbird II Pelham Blue 1965
nah, I thought I heard him mention there may have been an authenticity issue with the finish on a really expensive NR that came up some months back. I was just wondering if this is the one..He's out selling a kidney to finance it.
I saw a bassist playing one of those recently. I talked to him after the show and he let me check it out. It was well worn and very nice! I was also surprised how light it was.
It might take both kidneys for that one.He's out selling a kidney to finance it.
I thought a slightly arhythmic version of Smoke on the Water was the Guitar Center solo choice of champions. I stand corrected.
If I could be Larry Graham, I would be into the slap and pop thing. Unfortunately, I don't have talent, which means I need to stay grooving in the background where untalented people like me belong.
Roger, what did you do to your hand? It's not from too much.........Eeerrrrmmmm.......
You'll go blind!
I have just gotten a new pair of glasses... bifocals. I'm tryna quit!

I checked earlier today, there were some on Reverb at various prices.
Maybe newer versions have solved that problem, but FTR this is copied from a concurrent thread about... neck diving;
"1969 Gibson Eb-3 was the only bass I've had that had amazing neck dive." My EB-3 I referred to was a '70. At that point in my life I was a clueless teen and it was my first new real bass so what would I have cared about? (short answer - nothing)
I had an EB-O as well in my teens, was stupid light weight. Of course, just like now. I didn't know any better to keep it.
this just became available, 340...hmmmm...
