To funny.
Love the look of those Dingwall birds! Just wish I could find one somewhere to try out. I like a warm sounding bass and with all those pups down by the bridge it looks like it might be too top end for me. Does it get as warm as your Gibby bird?Thunderbird Thursday!View attachment 3286280
yeah, but why? it's a 2013 and the headstock looks nothing (even with the little clover tuners) like a 60's besides, the cord gets in the way of the tone pot when feeding it back through the strap..Ever thought of moving the jack to where the tone control is, make it a more traditional Bird xD
If you need someone to leave this stuff to in your will, I'm available.

It can be quite diverse in sounds, 3 pickups in different combinations via the 4 selector switch. The closest and warmest sound is with all 3 pickups. Of course, the tone knob works in any position too!Love the look of those Dingwall birds! Just wish I could find one somewhere to try out. You don't need a ton of fx or plugins. Ziggy Stardust was recorded with a couple of plates, a tape delay and some LA2A and U1176 compressors and it sounds okay.
And C12’s, U67’s, Trident console, perfectly tweaked 2” decks, world class room...oh, and David Bowie. Gonna need him too
Your point is spot on though in that tons of gear/fx doesn’t necessarily make a great recording. I love your less is more ethic and I share it!
I’m currently reading Ken Scott’s book “From Abbey Road to Ziggy Stardust.”
He’s such a hero to me
