Cool. Not sure if it was the sound you didn't like or it died on you, but I'm glad you've got exactly what works for you. To be fair to GK, though, 37 years is a long time. Infinite for technology.

ACC amps seem to be holding up after 40+ years. I have no complaints about those. Sound or anything else. Two repairs in all that time. Maybe weight matters.

I don't know if you use a pick for the music you play, if not, you owe it to yourself to try it with a Thunderbird - those pickups really light up when you hit them with a pick. Further, try rolling off the bridge pickup, magic there!

I was playing my VP (with a pick) with my daughter’s band the other day and we did Crazy Train. We hit the solo section and I remembered the bass line just in time...I couldn’t really hear the solo, but the bass sounded glorious!

There is a thread about a factory Candy Green Ric. I have had my Ric fling and do not really want a Ric. But Candy Green with checkered binding.... Ooooooh! I am shallow and easily distracted by shiny things.

Just spent way too much money on a few sets of strings. I once played TI flats on a friends bass and really liked em, but the price sure was off putting. Got a short scale set anyway. If I hate em, I’ll send my legal team Jeff’s way since he recommended em. And I’m SERIOUS.
Got a set of BassBurners for the Cataldo, Cobalt Flats for the Gibson ‘Bird. And one other set of nickel rounds to put on...something. I’d like to try a set of strings on the Aria before selling it. Need something for the Drake too. I know I like Lo Riders on that bass, but am considering trying a set of Ken Smith RockMasters just for kicks. A local shop carries em and V speaks highly of em.
Really curious about Pyramids. Stupidly expensive, but are they worth it? Do they last a long time?

right now the Neck PU is maxed. Bridge PU and Tone backed off a 1/4 maybe at most.

Wife scolded me for having surpassed the previously agreed upon volume limit with both 1x15's hooked up. Apparently a coveted figurine fell of the shelf and broke. In the living room.

I'm in timeout until Friday.

You need to slip about a boogers worth of this stuff under everything you don't want to dance around while you're playing loud. Works like a charm! Won't hurt sealed wood or the figurines. A must have in earthquake zones.

orangey, reddish hues for me......this is a good pic (posted previously) to show the differences in h/s sizes and how not true to the originals, the body outline of the 2012/13 NRs is...guess they elongated the upper horn (i know, ahem) to alleviate the "dive" issue?....
