Thunderbird Club

Before we answer your question, you must read the entirety of this thread. There will be a 3 hour exam.

Oh, *that* kind of exam........... Nevermind! :woot:

Sorry. It is illegal to offer for sale specific property that you do not own or do not have an agreement to sell. It’s called fraud.

A lot of things are illegal. What's more important to me is if they're immoral and I decide that.

In this case I'm with @Gaolee.

I'm sure the store owner was unhappy about it. I'm not sure what the legalities of it are or are not. I'm not a lawyer, and have no intention of ever becoming one. They are pre-Platonic Sophists for whom logic is an artificial construct with absolutely no connection to reality. Another soapbox to use to scrub down the disintermediated.

We also don't know what the employment contract (whether written or verbal) was.

Having just wrapped up a week of jury duty I'm inclined to think that any decent corporate lawyer could build a strong case against the young schmuck; and likewise, any good defense attorney could mount a strong defense to keep said schmuck out of jeopardy. If it came down to a trial by jury I'd assume the odds would not be in his favor but only slightly.
Makes me wonder about all those Japanese EBay listings of the same instruments.

GAS? I've got my 370 and a stupid-heavy cab for it (punchy like you read about), a smaller rig and a very small rig, all sound good. It's mostly instruments now:

*Gibson, or Cataldo (NR) 'Bird...
*Smith BT 4 string...
*Alembic Distillate or Stanley C, 32" scale w/ Ebony board, Walnut top, no markers...
*Rickie...
*Nice barky fretless, Moses neck, blank board...
*Jack Cassady Epi...
Should do it.
Nah. You’ll add more.

Trying to avoid my version of Tumultuous Tuesday. So here’s urban shock. Ok, so I’m up late on a school night.

Piano anyone?

Perfect. The Hellborg strings sound like they might be a very good fit for the massively broad tone range of the 2015 bird. My only issue with an overly agressive texture on the string would be slides and other finger noise but that can also be used for effect as well. A good fuzz pedal thrives on string/finger noise. Might just be my go to hard rock/metal bass. We'll see.
I hope you actually get a '15 'Bird. They are good to start with and then they grow on you even more as you find out what they can do. Not enough chrome is the one downside.

Under the heading 'ask and you'll receive', I offer this demo of the 67, the 70 Kasino and the EHX Micro POG. :poop: For whatever reason, it won't upload. Go on YT, IMG3448/EHX Micro POG demo
Damn. That Kasino brings back memories of 70’s solid state goodness. Nice demo! I passed on a Kustom 200 a couple years ago in Sacto and regret it now.

You just proved that I am not even a schitthouse lawyer. I figured what he was doing was like financial arbitrage or short selling. Warning - don't ask me for legal advice!

All this talk of GAS got me looking out on the Guitar Center used site. Was looking for something different, not a duplicate (looks or sound wise) to what I already have.

BINGO - this just jumped out at me, I figure this bird sounds completely different than any of my other birds...

:roflmao:...bought it on a lark!

I have no idea if I'm gonna get a Jazzmaster (or whatever that thing in the picture is called) or even a 2015 TBird. In either case, GC has a fantastic return policy, so the most I'm out is the 5 minutes it took to drop it in the shopping cart and hit send.

:cool:Taking bets...
will it be a guitar? Will it be the guitar pictured? Will it be a Gibson? Will it be a Thunderbird? Will it be a 2015 Gibson Thunderbird?

This is like winning a door prize, might be something I don't want or need, or it might be something really cool. Can't wait for the FedEx guy to arrive. :hyper:
Sure hope it’s a ‘15. I love mine.

apologies...It is the regular Thunderbird IV with 3 nobs, '18 model made in China.

TEST? Oh man....sad to hear it is the multiple choice type and not the rubber glove one..
For what it is worth, I have Gibson Thunderbirds, but also have an older Korean bolt on neck Thunderbird because it is different and I just flat like it. I use DR Black Beauties on it sometimes and DR stainless rounds, I don't remember if they are Hi-beams or Sun-beams. If the pickups are raised up close to the strings, you can get a really good sound out of those strings.

Hey! Be nice.
