Is said road manager taking responsibility?Exactly...only makes me feel a little better in the short term though
Is said road manager taking responsibility?
This is good news on the home front. I hope Monday brings more good news. Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes! I'm fine, in relatively good shape and just dealing with high blood pressure, which seems to be kept in check with meds. Maxed out the stress test treadmill and never even broke a sweat. I do a 5k walk every day except when I'm golfing (but I probably put in the same excercise chasing my errant drives LOL).
Anyway, looks like the bird/guitar won't be here until Monday now.![]()
Awesome. Plus, shoes overhead!View attachment 3358358
Thunderbird in Action: My wife and I playing gig last night at a really fun place called The El Bar (underneath the elevated train tracks) in Philadelphia.
Opening act was an all female performance art troupe who did 45 minutes on the power and beauty of a certain part of the the female anatomy.....no pics!
FWIW, I had two folks comment on the Thunderbird. It happens to me pretty regularly.
My Carvin has a 3, a 6, a 12, and the extension cabinet has a 15. It must have been thought out, because it sounds fine when eq'd right.Hold on a minute. Even without looking inside the Traynor cabs, I'd expect there to be some sort of passive crossover, as there is in a home hifi speaker, dividing the signal into different ranges tailored to the frequency response and power handling of the various drivers. That's entirely different to pushing a full bandwidth signal through a bunch of different drivers and expecting a good result.
I admire your attitude and restraint. Is said road manager taking responsibility?

Were they getting down?Is that young Al Franken on bass? The stiff band is a riot swaying back & forth in time while DD rips it up up front!
I have broken my upright twice. It is not a happy feeling. I am really sorry it happened to you.Ok, I’m now a member of the Thunderbird club with a broken headstock...just not on my Thunderbird...

I loaded in the bass myself and sat it in a hallway where I thought it would be safe. Our road manager thought it would be safer leaning againt the door that opens up to the stage (I was unaware of this decision). When I came back into the club the door had been opened and my peghead has fallen directly into a metal stair...fortunately the bass was still playable. I guess it pays not to get too precious about your gear on the road. I have a very nice thickly padded bag it travels in (my flight case is too big to fit in the van with the rest of the gear), so it must e fell really hard. That bass has travelled all over the world several times over and this is the first issue out of a thousand shows or more, so I guess I’ve been fairly lucky
RIP Dick Dale...
An insufferable blowhard that put his mark on the early electric guitar and amplification scene and never really got his dues. Love a lot of his stuff.

I think most of us are parodying those out in GP that will jump on any mixed drivers. Well designed cabs will work well; poorly designed cabs will sound like. Regardless of number and size of drivers.
There are those that hear a single piece of wisdom, adopt it as their own without any understanding, and parrot it back incessantly. And that is why your Thunderbird sounds terrible, always heads directly for the floor, and then without warning the headstock spontaneously pops off.
O'Neal. That's Chinese, right?Dear Mike,
It's St Paddy (short for Padraigh).
Thanks,
The Irish.
P.S. A happy St Paddy's day to you!
P.P.S. We are in Dublin (Ireland) this St. Paddy's day! Yeehah!
(Don't make us call you Mice. 8^)
Battle scars on a player are a thing of beauty.I just glued and clamped it...won’t be pretty, but not the end of the world either![]()
