Wow. Looks like him, playing the simplist line in history. Love that song.Is that young Al Franken on bass? The stiff band is a riot swaying back & forth in time while DD rips it up up front!

I loaded in the bass myself and sat it in a hallway where I thought it would be safe. Our road manager thought it would be safer leaning againt the door that opens up to the stage (I was unaware of this decision). When I came back into the club the door had been opened and my peghead has fallen directly into a metal stair...fortunately the bass was still playable. I guess it pays not to get too precious about your gear on the road. I have a very nice thickly padded bag it travels in (my flight case is too big to fit in the van with the rest of the gear), so it must e fell really hard. That bass has travelled all over the world several times over and this is the first issue out of a thousand shows or more, so I guess I’ve been fairly lucky

Funny you should say that...LOL! Can't do it, man. Love the look and sound but the reach is too long for me. Maybe if someone makes a T-Bird in 30" scale![]()

Testosterone poisoning is an ugly condition. The one thing my new bandmates do notice is that I have more than one bass. Generalising here but having 20 guitars may be more of a boy thing.
That is one sexy photo.
If you saved all the pieces - it can be made good as new.
That makes me sad. Sorry .Ok, I’m now a member of the Thunderbird club with a broken headstock...just not on my Thunderbird...

The fretless Epi gets noticed. The person who notices is always some odd guy I would prefer not to deal with. But it gets noticed.I've played a Thunderbird at many shows over the years, either my '64 II or various T-bird spin-offs I've made and the only one that ever got any kind of attention was my Factorbird fretless - and that was only once. Mostly no one mentions/comments on what bass I play and a few times someone told me they like my playing, which I appreciate. It always cracks me up reading tb bass-style fussing because 99% of the time we are the only ones who care! (which is legit - just as long as we realize it!)

I can't "Like" that Mark. Really sorry.
I just glued and clamped it...won’t be pretty, but not the end of the world either![]()
It does suck, but due to their size upright basses have suffered far worse and a seasoned luthier like a surgon can make it whole again. The headstock/scroll is more or less decorative so broken or repaired it will not change it's playability or sound of the instrument.
