Thunderbird Club

A really insightful document - its reason to be made was pedals, fuzz pedals specifically but through the interviews reveals more about buzz (see what I did there), hype and human nature in the world of electric guitar oriented music. (including forums...)

'Yeah it might make all those noises, but 80% of them are unusable.'

'Yeah it might make all those noises, but 80% of them are unusable.'

And that's just the geekery of the function - what I found most insightful was the behind the scenes part - the smoke & mirrors part, the perceived worth of a hand-painted (by who... let's see.., could it be... China?) metal box over a machine printed metal box, that is more or less cloning an existing metal box, the bandwagon mentality of certain hyped metal boxes because so-n-so used one or someone on a blog or forum is convinced it's manna from heaven, and Electro-Harmonics factory tour with all the women (look at her nice smile) from everywhere but the US doing the handywork while complaining that Europe banned use of Mercury and what a PIA it is dealing with that while US companies like his continue using toxic materials w/o regulation here in the US. A real frank look at an innocent metal box's industry.

Some of the behaviour has been so toxic we shouldn't wait for a replacement ... and it's not fair to drag it out. Alternatives are being pursued.

I find that continuing forward momentum while a new member is being sought is super important and binds the existing band members together stronger.

Pro-activity in such case is miles better than waiting for it to hit the fan, and getting it on everyone. Yep, take the wheel, even if you have to drive light for a few clicks.

True, sharing forward momentum and purpose is like a good kind of glue.
