Thunderbird Club

string update:

I used the Cobalt flats for a few gigs. I like them, but for what I’m playing lately, I think my P does the flat thing differently, and I’ve grown to want that sound.

Back on went the stainless rounds from Dunlop. A couple more gigs done on those, and I think I’m pegging this TBird as a stainless round bass. Just enough definition with the pups still sounding really fat across all strings.

So I’ll be experimenting with different stainless suggestions from the club that I’ve received.

I used the VP this weekend with Cobalts. Sounded good, but just good. I'm looking for magic. (Because I'm that OCD about tone.) Threw some Dean Markley Blue Steels on. Forgot I had any SSs. Sound cool at home. Might use it next weekend. If I like it I will be shocked. GHS Precision flats are next if the magic doesn't show up.

This would work.

And I have one o' those in the garage!

@kringle77. But me thinks he's quite satisfied with his DingWall. He needs a third.
I thought there were a couple people looking for a short scale Bird. We can always conjure up Link Removed and explain his true calling as a Thunderbird player. He didn't like the length. Problem solved!
