the XLR is the DI out. if you want to use a preamp, either go into the “Powe Amp In” or the FX loop “Return” both 1/4” jacksPerfect, just switch it to post and I use my Ampeg preamp
It will be nice to not have to haul a rig for a change.
I knew I wouldn't be the only one in this group! Far from it, I suspect.
Just a quick reminder - when transporting a bass it should be protected by at least a gig bag and if you really value it a hard case is even better.
Needless to say, I don't always follow my own advice. Coming home from a garage band jam and when taking my FrankenGoth out of the car a gust of wind came up and slammed the car door on the lower horn of the Goth. Chunked up about two inches on the back side of the horn...
Well, it is a Frankenstein bass so I figured what the heck, let's do a "hornectomy". Off it came, and on went a quick touch up shot of flat black paint. My FrankenGoth is now a little less horney, but still sounds like a beast....
Doesn't quite scratch my NR itch, but it kinda has that vibe goin on. Just glad it was the Goth and not one of the other birds that took the hit.

I saw SRV with Jeff Beck and Jeff Healy in Toronto November 1989! Incredible show. The finale was all three playing together.
Interesting move... I'd do something similar if I had a few Birds, including a chopper.
Jio's take is also interesting. Doing something with the remaining lower bout could yield some funky, more defined result.
Or you could shape the bottom and take another step into NR territory.
I don't know any backstory here, but that looked heavy.

The backstory was Don Draper was divorced and he was showing his own 'happier days' of his past life - to illustrate his "time machine" angle for slides/a slideshow and then pulling in his creative marketing genius equating the "wheel" to a children's carousel. The underlying theme was nostalgia - better memorable days - pics are only taken of happy occasions/friends/family. It was a really poignant soliliquie

I planned to see them in Columbus Ohio as I was living in Cincinnati at that time. It was a Wednesday night show and I was working and the drive was a-ways north so I decided against going. Their plane crash was shortly after that date.
I'd assessed something along those lines, yeah that was well done.
The part I could've been more clear about was what was said to the two guys getting the presentation.

Now I hate to tell you this, but they were absolutely on their game - SRV had cleaned up and JB had just released Guitar Shop, the first album in a decade or more. There were 3 sets and two encores. Frist set was Healey. JB & SRV alternated who played second and third. The first encore was JB and SRV, the second encore was JB, SRV, and JH.

Yah, just to hear/see them play "Goin' Down" would have be beyond awesome. That album was a big fave of mine and my friends back then. Still one of the greatest guitar solo's ever.
