That goes to the failing health that was being talked about. Again, nothing in regards to a terminal illness. I for one, do not remember anyone speculating about his demise at such an early exit.

"Failing health" is pretty plain, I think. And it's alright, people pass on- you get a time to be here. But failing means something, sets you up to have an expectation. It's a reminder that we're a little fragile.
I'm not the rubber band I used to be, and my metabolism is a little slower, but I wouldn't be described as having failing health.
That's harsh though, arthritis like that. Dude really loved to play, was a soldier for it.

I wouldn't have called arthritis failing health; a condition to be managed (or rather pain to be managed). Failing health I would take to be deteriorating health clearly leading to demise.

But you are right, there was talk of his (and Alex's) health specifically arthritis for both and it being likely that it would be the last tour because neither of them would be able to manage 3 hour shows much longer.

The guy liked playing but hated touring. I was hoping for a residency somewhere (like the Billy Joel once a month at MSG) so that I might get one more opportunity to see them.

For some reason, I am now picturing @GonePlaid on a mobility scooter chasing @dagrev on a mobility scooter. Shaking his fist and yelling "You young whipper snappers with your long hair and loud music! Come back here and I'll go all Lawrence Welk on you!"

And now I am thinking that we need a new reality show: Mobility Scooter Jousting. Get the cast of the American Gladiators to star (they are probably all on mobility scooters by now...

There was a story in our local news that Rod Stewart had to make a court appearance for some charge and they mentioned his age-74-same as mine. And FL is loaded with nonagenarians so I'm in good company.

our guitarist’s mom recently passed from the same condition (Glioblastoma) which is so aggressive, 14 months is the most you get after diagnosis. Peart fought it for three years! Pretty tough Canuck...

Yah, all the WWII carry-overs. I always thought they were created more for the returning soldiers than for kids. Sargent Rock too, and on TV shows like Combat, The Rat Patrol, and my pilot dad's fave - 12:00 High. That was the serious side - comedy wise Gomer Pyle, F-Troop, The Phil Silvers Show.
