Thunderbird Club

Hi all. I’m searching through the posts (there is alot) but cant see anything in relation to straps. Is there a good wide strap that anyone can suggest to help with the neck dive. Thanks

My straps are all from DSL (2.5" Padded Garment Black/Black – DSL Straps). If they were good enough for Lemmy they are good enough for me. Getting extra long and suede backing helps with any balance problems.

What strings do you guys use on the Tbird?
these..

Currently:
'64- TI Infeld's (This will likely never change)
'64 Embassy- (same PUs as Thunderbird) TI Jazz Rounds (this will not change)
'76- TI Flats or Fender Flats
VP- Fender Flats
VP- GHS Pressurewounds
GHS Round Core Boomers sound fantastic on these as well as a few other lesser known strings. (GHS Progressives, Dean Markley Blue Steels and String Joy round core nickles all sound really good.) Just depends on what you are shooting for.
Oh, Roto Flats sound great as well.

Yes, flats sound great on Thunderbirds!

Ive been looking through the local listings. Is the Epiphone T-Bird Classic Pro a big step up from a Epiphone T-Bird. I’m just a beginner and wont be gigging. Thanks
The Classic Pro has the thorough neck and Gibson pickups...lots of sustain and growl! IMHO it’s the next best thing to the much more expensive Gibson

I’ll be joining the club soon. Just looking for the right Bird
The right Thunderbird will find you. That is how it works. If you are a Thunderbird player, the bass will know and tell you. If not, it will misbehave and move along. You will know when you are chosen.
