Thunderbird Club

Hi all. I’m searching through the posts (there is alot) but cant see anything in relation to straps. Is there a good wide strap that anyone can suggest to help with the neck dive. Thanks
We tend to avoid searching around here because questions let us talk about Thunderbirds and everything else. I have used any number of 3" straps with good results. So long as the upper strap button is at the neck heel, wearing the bass a bit low and tilting the neck up more than you would with a Precision generally wipes out any dive a Thunderbird has. If any. Some dive, but most non bolt on Epiphones and nearly all Gibsons balance reasonably well. There are those that do not, and just about any wide strap is a big help.

May I suggest these surrounds instead...
Triple Shot
I installed some on a Fender bass mod a couple of years ago and they are fantastic!
The Zombiecaster has one of those at the neck position. It is the only humbucker on that guitar, and the humbucker is a P-rail, just to add more variation. I wired it with more switching, but that did not work too well, so it is wired as a HSS Strat these days. The other two pickups are Alumitones. It is an odd guitar, but I like it a lot.

Spell nanny wants Strat to be corrected to stray. Maybe that is appropriate when discussing the Zombiecaster since I got it in garbage bags.

Thank you kindly. I was fortunate enough to work for a local county government and have a NYS pension and free healthcare for life. I am one of the lucky ones. I am a rare bird these days - I know!
That is great planning on your part, even if it was not the plan at the time. Enjoy every minute of it!

Its essential sound is based on the sound of a PB-like bass that inherited the so-called vintage taste, and it has a core sound that also has a high-frequency sound loss that matches the modern music scene. It is. As well as advanced production technology, the German pickup “Delano”, which the company strives for as an import agent, has a large part, leaving a natural feeling and a slightly modern attack. With the impression that the quality of the professional specs cultivated in the JB type model, including body materials, was greatly utilized in the PB type, we created a sound with an assertion in an ensemble that can not be tasted by other brands even though it is orthodox. Give me.
It is not a modern ultra-fine neck, but it has a strong feeling that it has a strong hold type, which of course has a major impact on the sound.
Go soothingly on the grease mud as there lurks the skid demon.
