I, sir, stand corrected. Please pass me a watermelon dunce cap and I will stand in a corner. . . PillO will be very happy.Finger fart? 4 inches.

believe it or not, XLR connectors were originally devised for AC power until they failed UL....the telephony world adopted them afterwards...totally agree with you on the DB9s....12 or 24Vdc is ok but 6SN7 plate voltages?...They would be absolutely fine for short lengths anyway. Lock them down with the two screws and never have to worry about unplugging by accident.
If only whoever invented the HDMI connector had looked at the DB9....
I'll take that bet. On second thought, I'll pass. You say that you are finished with string experiments. I will wager that you will do another experiment within a year.
We are always beinginfluencedcoerced here to try something...
The pics you’re referring to are of a 2013 with an aftermarket black PG. Yes, the pot positions are different on the 2013s. I do not know why that is. The 2013s were a limited run.I've seen a couple NR TBirds with a different tone control and input jack arrangement than mine.
As you can see below, my V/V/T knobs are in line, but in the shot a couple posts above it appears the tone pot and input jack positions are switched...(???)

Yes, PillO is correct. It all depends on the definition of "a bit." To me, "a bit" ALWAYS means approximately 6 inches, even if one is talking weight, not distance.I would argue that he is correct - 10" is less than 10cm.![]()
Sorry for all your troubles down under. Keep safe, all of you. . .Looks like a slow commit today. My usual route is closed in 2 spots due to flooding. My main alternative has a 3 car smash, access down to 1 lane (from 3) and traffic has started backing up some kms.
plus the ceiling in the study is leaking water through. Just moved my PC.
NSW - we have it all. Drought, bush fires, and now big storm front with minor flooding.
See my post a page or so back. GHS Round Core Boomers, Fender Flats, TI Flats, TI Infelds.Hi all. What strings are you guys using on the Bird? What is considered the best ones most people use. Thanks
And one is SOLD! On its way to me!Weird.
Mine is a 2013, and there are two current listings in the classifieds with the other configuration, also stated to be 2013's...![]()
I did. Just didn’t bother. Figured someone would figure it out.And no one has noticed that I had it backwards. 10cm is smaller than 10".
Needs to be white. With Suzanne Summers behind the wheel.
I remember when "Sandy" hit Long Island. People were without electricity for weeks. I was lucky ( 1 week ), but gas shortages persisted for many weeks, with people lining up with 5 gal containers at gas stations that had both electricity and fuel, in hopes of getting some for their generators. I was on those lines and tempers flared on occasion. Ugly. The building has no hot water either.
No television signal and no hot water ... we didn't do too badly considering the damage in other parts of the city/state.
Young Andy: 'Can I have a go on your guitar? Oh pleeeeease Uncle Baphomet...'

That is hilarious!!!!It looks like you blew a seal.
No, that's just ice-cream.
If you’re on a budget, Dunlop Super Brights sound great on a bird. So do EB Slinkys, but they die fast. Not cobalt flats!
Carry on.
There are many strings here that various members like (ahem).
Rounds:
RS66
Black Beauties
DR Jonas Hellbourg
NYXL

7ender flats,

What kind of tone are you looking for?
Hi all. What strings are you guys using on the Bird? What is considered the best ones most people use. Thanks
That bass is either still for sale, or somebody's trying to flip it. It would be nice to have - and, scarily enough, I actually have the cash - but, I'm not overly fond of "collector grade" instruments. I have a couple of them - not really on purpose; just turned out that way - and honestly? I feel kind of guilty about taking them out to play them. And, the paranoia that comes with it kinda ruins the fun...You need that. Now.
Not a bad place to start. Like I said, Dunlop Super Brights. Or even regular ‘ol 7ender 7250s. Start with nickel rounds and experiment from there.Maybe best to start with D'Addario nickel and see where you want to go from there.

I think you mentioned that you have an Eppi VP. That's a fine bass and unlike many basses it takes to many different types of strings quite nicely. I'd recommend staying with a standard gauge unless you go Tapewound, in which case you can go with a light gauge so you don't have to refile the nut.Hi all. What strings are you guys using on the Bird? What is considered the best ones most people use. Thanks
You and me both. I wonder if those that have experienced otherwise got a defective set.I must be a prehistoric alien, then. I think Cobalt flats feel like silk ribbons.
