If you have that recorded somewhere, I'd love to hear it.

Remember this?
Too cool. Thanks. I liked the viola/cello reference, having been the bass clarinetist in the All Miami Youth Symphony many, many mango seasons ago.
"Blue Moanin" was the very first rock song I learned to play (underneath popcorn ceilings of course). Teacher was like "well you should really learn your scales first". I was like "no".
The first BTO song I learned was “Taking Care of Business”. I was 22 and some nearby teenagers had formed a (potentially really good) band. They were going to audition for the lead guitarist’s cousin’s wedding reception and needed a rhythm guitar player. We rehearsed for two weeks. At the audition, there was beer out, and the lead and bass player got too drunk to make it through eight bars. I left the band. They might have gone somewhere but had no discipline and didn’t want any. They just wanted the rock band lifestyle."Blue Moanin" was the very first rock song I learned to play (underneath popcorn ceilings of course). I never payed much attention to Garnet amps until I was in a band with a dude from Winnipeg that collected them.
Oh yes I do. Listening to that brought me back to a friend's basement when I was 13, we we're chain-listening BTO stuff for hours. That album is phenomenal, I believe it's regarded as their best.
These are my two favorites. I also enjoy their smoother stuff (Lookin' out for #1, Blue collar).

Growing up listening to BTO, Nazareth and Sabbath was my education in heavy.

When Rick Derringer and company left the studio after laying down that guitar solo section on Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo I think Rick told Edgar "instead of saying "yeah, did somebody say keep on rockin" I should have said "there ya go crappy cover bands, take that". This guy breaks it down very nicely.
When the bass and lead sync up it's just so damn good.
That's a great story.
I saw Narareth on two successive nights (Friday and Saturday) in Halifax. At the Misty Moon IIRC. Officially off limits due to the regular fights and arrests, but I never saw any MPs (or more importantly, they never saw me).Nazareth... ah man, the classic line-up belted out more than a few good ones !
Yeah, it is a song that SRV and Tommy Shannon would have owned. Nobody would have talked about BTO any more except a bunch of old farts reminiscing about am radio from the 70s and yelling at kids to get off their lawns.Cool stuff ! Guitar sounds SRV enough to me. Vocals woulda been different of course, I'm seeing a Pride & Joy/I'm cryin' type of delivery...
Clean a fretboard? Hmmm... What's that?Hi all. How to you guys with T-Birds Pro clean your frets/fretboard. Never done it before. What do you guys use for best results. Thanks
For any wood other than maple, use pure lemon oil with paper towels. For maple boards ( finished or unfinished ) I just buff with guitar polish. I'm sure others will have other methods, but my method is as good as any and better than most ( somewhat quoting a line from the movie "Shane" ). Never put water on bare wood or else you'll raise the grain ( bad ).Hi all. How to you guys with T-Birds Pro clean your frets/fretboard. Never done it before. What do you guys use for best results.
