Thunderbird Club

:roflmao:
I need to see that video!
<confused look> "Where'd the other two strings go? Bono, you playing Loki today, or what?"

Wait for it....

Wait for it...

That is Edge, right, albeit less scrawny?

There was your mistake...
To quote 68 Guns, "forever young I cannot stay" a telling line.
Another favorite quote from Spirit if '76 "carve out a future with my two bare hands" essentially what I've done. The Alarm were a big influence. Dee Side"to build the ships, to set the sails,to cross the sea of fools"

Well, blow me down. Watching a video of U2's War tour in 1983, and on "Forty", the Edge and Adam swap instruments. It's not a Thunderbird in that video, but at some point it may well have been.

Know your Thunderbirds.....How to spot a Gibson and an Orville

Back side of the headstock, the green is an Orville, the purple is Gibson. Note the shape of the tuners, and how they're mounted, also of note is the threading on the tuner shaft.

Note the width of the Orville's headstock.

Note the shape of the neck heels

Most telling here, note how the center block meets the body near the neck, while there is some inconsistency with Gibson over the many years of production, '76s don't seem to have this.

Very informative Thunderbird lesson, keep em coming! Thx

I came to hear a concert, not a lecture.(never been to a U-2 concert-not a fan)
I never give two thoughts about a performers position on any topic - until he/she/they force me to listen to their tripe as part of a performance. Once they do that it's game over, they're dead to me. U2 falls into that category for me as do a few other performers. I wouldn't listen to them even if they played Thunderbirds.

Agreed. If I 'hear' something about their opinions from reading or on TV, that's one thing. If I pay the ridiculous amount that most tickets cost, plus "service fee", I wanna hear their music, maybe a road story or 2, announcement of a new album, whatever-not a diatribe on....well, anything.

I've met their drummer Nigel Philips through my friend network - lives in the Bay Area.

Unfortunately life=politics. Hard to avoid... just sayin'

I like it. As much as I love progressive music, rarely do I find a tune as catchy as this. I caught myself whistling your song twice today. Keep composing. Looking forward to the next release.

Cheers. Yeah I need to master it properly and get it up on Bandcamp, along with the doom mix.
