He’d never admit to it if he did get one. Have you seen his post about paint jobs he’s doing? Very cool. You sure it didn't go to @JimmyM ? That's pretty close to his location.

I have now. Thanks! He’d never admit to it if he did get one. Have you seen his post about paint jobs he’s doing? Very cool.
Hey man, I do recommend you going for the regular Sub n' Up, mainly because of the two octaves up function. For me, the mini works just okay tho. That was I. Thanks. I'll check out the stuff you mentioned.
This is the bridge I found which looks nearly identical to the VP bridge. Save for the front of the intonation screws.

This looks so close, I hesitate to believe the "made in USA" claim. But its for sale in a few places. Is this the one Lull used?
So, exactly what model is that one?

Nope, not me. I'm close to WP, though.Does his last name actually begin with an L? And it was a Winter Park address.

It was a burst. I'm currently working on a Gibson from the classifieds if we can come to terms. His shipping numbers seem really high. Like $120 and more from AZ to KY. Did you have another Classic Pro to get rid of?
I've never had to pay more than $69 via the Post Office (best price of all shippers here). I do appreciate the confirmation. We arrived at $65 for my part of shipping, so I'm fine with that.I keep seeing contrarian comments on shipping pricing. But in my experience, its like $115 minimum, to ship a whole bass nowadays.
No idea. J/K. He's never shown any interest in a 'Bird.Does his last name actually begin with an L? And it was a Winter Park address.
I just shipped a Warmoth from Virginia to California. In a gig bag and fender cardboard box via USPS...$117.00 insured.
Yeah I recently shipped a bass from Virginia to Albany NY -- ran about $70 including insurance.I just shipped a Warmoth from Virginia to California. In a gig bag and fender cardboard box via USPS...$117.00 insured.
Paid his asking price (1,000). Seemed plenty fair enough to me. It seems to be in exceptionally good shape. He has the original pickguard, TR cover and 3-Point Bridge. Also a really nice gig bag for thunderbirds--if it will fit in the box. The pickguard and TR cover will go back to original.Sounds right but if you don't mind me asking... What did you insure the bass for and what was the purchase price?
Wasn't planning on buying something like this, but ran across it and decided to take the plunge with a modern Gibson Thunderbird. May not be my cup of tea, but we'll see. Don't think I like the aluminum pickguard, but my wife thinks it will look good on the white VP.

Good thought. Obviously hadn't considered that. But I did think about selling it and the TR cover to lower my price a little. I'm sure they look good on something (a solid color maybe), but I'm not quite sure it looks good on that bass.If you decide to part with the metal guard and TRC I might be interested. Not likely to fit a VP due to the shape difference, but it might.
Hey Larry.Sounds right but if you don't mind me asking... What did you insure the bass for and what was the purchase price?
Hey Larry.
I sold the Bass for $950 and insured it for $900..just used a round number..here’s the shipping receipt.
I can only imagine what sales would be like if rates were quadrupled..

My practice has been as mentioned in my post above, when the buyer. When I am the seller, however, I always ask if they want additional insurance. I sell it with the price of basic shipping included and if they want something additional that is extra. I leave that up to the buyer, generally, and they decide if they want to take the chance or not. That is always worked well for me. I do always require signature so I know the package was delivered. Thanks, Insta. The reason I asked is because I believe people put insufficient insurance on their basses when they are shipping them and I wanted to see if you had taken that into account.
God forbid, the bass ended up damaged with a broken neck, the purchaser would want his money back and then you'd have to pay to ship back your broken bass that now would need a skilled luthier to put it back together.
I always double the insurance to avoid this if a problem occurs. I could refund the purchaser and get the bass reshipped to myself. Have it fixed hopefully and probably be ahead of the game money wise and still have the repaired bass.
I wouldn't be happy about the situation but at least I wouldn't be out a bass with no money.
Thoughts?
