Thunderbird Club

LOL - wish I had seen that clip when I was 20.:roflmao:
It took a couple of months to realize I was dealing with several different and very distinct personalities. She was in that danger zone part of the chart most of the time we were married. After five years we had both had enough. My second wife (36th Anniversary is coming up) has been a dream. She's even an enabler of my car and guitar habits and loves my Thunderbirds.
That's wonderful. The second part, obviously.

Not that kids would listen, but parents ought to sit down at some point and help kids understand what to look for in a spouse and what to run from, and why. I realize it's not that easy.

Here's one for you guys and gals. I was showing my basses to my girlfriend last night - she's an archaeologist and anthropologist - and she took exception to the name "Thunderbird" and it's logo. Resulted in a mild argument. So I submit to the group - Thunderbird: Cultural Appropriation or Harmless Tribute?
Completely harmless tribute. Honorable name for an honorable bass. It's a compliment for goodness sake. When a Thunderbird or Native American complains, I would then listen to what they have to say and only then. Life is too short to hunt for offenses, especially on behalf of other people--who likely are not offended.

Pete, gets more camera time than the guitarist..........Is that a black '79?

The singer from The Struts totally reminds me of the singer in the video"

A Buddhist friend wears a rather large one regularly. To her it is a symbol of her faith.

Just for S&G I looked up swastika. I knew it had been used by some southwestern Native Americans, but I had no idea how many other cultures had used the symbol, whatever they called it.

about 15 years ago a lady with an Indian background (can’t remember if she was from India or Fiji) started at work. She had a largish Swastika tattoo on the underside of her wrist. I believe it was a Hindu symbol.
Eventually she got sick of being questioned about it and having to explain it. She had it covered by a rose tattoo. (really, but a nice one)

That's a great point.

@Jakeman Did you girlfriend hear a complaint from a Native American about it?

Maybe, but the VP is going to be more of what your ears are used to. Get the VP! IMHO.
Yeah, that would be my 2nd choice(1st being the hoped for RI, VP, NR, TBII/IV, etc.), but a $250. difference is a substantial draw. And I tend to favor a mellower, less "TBird-y" tone. Still in the "thinkin' 'bout it" phase.
