Finally got my latest Bird out to a gig, enjoying the heck out of playing it, in spite of the heftier neck, as compared with the rest of my Gibson & Epi Birds:

Like just the typical hipshot or gotoh style tuners. i'd want something different looking
Andii, I used this type on my Warmoth Bird. I like the look a lot. They sort of remind me of bat wings for some reason. Great price too. They are not black paint tho. Black Chrome is more like a transparent black but you don't really notice the difference from a distance, only up close. Most of the time I don't even realize they aren't solid black They hold the tuning for a long time too.

I'm routing an Epi Goth body and it is solid mahogany, apart from the frt/rear center platforms which are laminated solid mahogany. It's a substantial hunk of wood - mine started out at 5.2lbs. If weight is a factor, by routing 1" deep under the pg - you can lose nearly 1lb. (5.2 to 4.7) A sub 9lb bass is much nicer to your shoulder/back over the night.Link Removed
LOL..! Good observation, indeed...
Actually that horrible cover was made before I joined the band and has been the source to a lot of problems for the band - like poor sales for example (despite having made an excellent album) and lack of shows.
At that point the stage show incorporated two girls in very tight military uniforms with (you guessed it) machineguns and other military paraphanalia...
We've since abandoned this concept (fortunately) since it was way over the top, and had an adverse effect on the band - both show wise and internally.
Not making things better - the "cover girl" was the singer's wife, and they went through a nasty divorce later on... So the concept had to go...
It was a fun concept for a while, but it proved problematic in the long run...
Well....this is rather humorous. Posting your album cover got me deleted because the girl on your cover had bare boobies.
So, the album cover apparently still causes problems![]()
The one thing I never see is roadworn/relic'd 'birds.... Do any of you have any Relics or Roadworn? Amuse your Prince!
Nice!Shame you didn't get the pinkburst one, while it was on auction, then...![]()
That's interesting. Does routing under the guard change the balance substantially? I don't mind the overall weight so much as the neck dive; my particular bass is only slightly heavier than my Sterling SB4...but there is a difference.I'm routing an Epi Goth body and it is solid mahogany, apart from the frt/rear center platforms which are laminated solid mahogany.
