I use picks primarily, too. I can do fingers, but not well, and don't really care for it. I can do everything I need with picks :)

My current un-lost ones (how they completely disappear in 600 sq. ft. I haven't quite figured out yet... )

Where do picks go? One of life's mysteries. When we cleared out my parents estate I found a cache of picks in and under the cloths dryer, even my polished stone Mind Pick that went missing in my teens. Totally useless for bass, I've been meaning to get a hole drilled in it so I can wear it.

I usually have two of the red Jim Dunlops out, one in my "practice area" and one on my work bench. A few weeks ago, I was using one of them, went to another room for something (pretty sure I had it in my hand) & came back - and it was gone. Hasn't been seen since  :rollno:

Also... Have I mentioned that this bass sounds really good? TBH, it makes me wish I was better with a pick.
Yeah, the Goth is really much better than the price indicates. Well IMO anyway.
I’ve contemplated all sorts of things for mine but really I just like it as is. If I do anything maybe a belly cut but no hurry.

New knobs, new pickup screws, pickup height adjusted. Brought it to band practice today, made former owner sad. It was just languishing in a closet, so I don't feel bad at all. Probably the bass I'll use for this project, the look suits the music.

Picks and socks. There is no answer.

I know. I always wished the early albums overall sounded better. Music was perfect. Mix seems right. To me it sounded thin and not recorded or EQed well. Each album had a more full and wider sound then the previous one.* SS was the first one other than live that sounded high quality. I thought the same of some early Journey albums. Something just sounded odd to me. Mixed more AM as much as FM maybe, I don't know.

*Ed said Second Helping was recorded in LA and and sounded a little dead compared to the first album. I think he said there was carpet everywhere that just sucked the life out of things.
Al Kooper was genius but an odd duck. Would love to have been able to pick his brain during those sessions.
Including why the heck he thought Simple Man was a weak song.
