I love Meisner.’s playing going back to Poco and Rick Nelson.

I don't understand that at all. I think that's who made my RNR's. It was around $20.Thunderbird Truss Cover | eBay
This is insane...
You guys know what, I'll probably end up white-taping the one I have and hand-draw a gold Epi logo on it.
There was a Twilight Zone type show maybe in the 80s where a girl in a college dorm was studying, leaves her desk to go do something, and when she comes back her coffee mug is gone. She looks all over and finally finds this little blue guy trying to put it back and catches him. Then his boss comes out, asking her to let him go. They take little things that you wouldn't notices missing or find a big deal. He made a mistake of taking her mug, which was significant. I can't remember what show that was, but I've been trying to figure it out.I usually have two of the red Jim Dunlops out, one in my "practice area" and one on my work bench. A few weeks ago, I was using one of them, went to another room for something (pretty sure I had it in my hand) & came back - and it was gone. Hasn't been seen since![]()

I had those on a Ric. The Ric is gone. It wasn't a problem with the strings. The FedEx driver just left this for me. Box looked a little worse for wear, but no damage to the contents. I have been experimenting with flats lately and thought I would give these a try. I have never used them before, but have read plenty, both good and not so good. Debating between putting them on the Thunderbird or the 335. Hopefully they will sound good on either bass.
Have a great relaxing Sunday everyone
TI Jazz Flats sound great on a bird initially and just keep sounding better and better with age. I have a set on my Greco that are ancient and they sound super creamy and yet still clear. Some complain about the low tension, but I haven't noticed a huge difference tension wise between TI's or Cobalt flats. The FedEx driver just left this for me. Love those on my P basses..If you don't like them you can resell at just a little less then you paid for them. The FedEx driver just left this for me. Oh my god. Mesa 400. Ampeg. Aguilar. Berg. How in the world do you decide what to use?Ten days until my first rehearsal after a year in shutdown..Turned all of the big rigs on to burn off the dust..Nice to get out from under the headphones..I’m going out with the Bergantino Forte HP and two 15’s or the Aguilar 751 and a Berg 610..on the fence at this point.View attachment 4239713
Happy Sunday everyone..Cheers.
Where do picks go? One of life's mysteries. When we cleared out my parents estate I found a cache of picks in and under the cloths dryer, even my polished stone Mind Pick that went missing in my teens. Totally useless for bass, I've been meaning to get a hole drilled in it so I can wear it.View attachment 4239185
Obviously love the bass, but love your floors. Reminds me of a when we restored a registered historic mansion here and built and office and with courtyard. The mansion had floors similar in that they had a border with about four different kids of wood. It was beautiful. If it was, you know who would be all over it.View attachment 4238833
Really hate to hear that. Just sucks all the way around. It's difficult when something you love is not an option for an extended time. On the bright side you still have us! OK, maybe that's a bit of a stretch.Neither Sweetwater nor L&M are yet showing NR Thunderbirds on their webpages yet.
Worse, I still can't play. I do not have enough grip strength to fret a note. Neurologist consult isn't scheduled until the end of May; I am working on getting that moved up. But there will be an MRI at a minimum adding a couple of weeks and then probably a month or two wait for plastic surgery. So playing bass and kayaking are really getting screwed up this summer...
At my age it comes down to what I can lift out of the basement for the gig,,Oh my god. Mesa 400. Ampeg. Aguilar. Berg. How in the world do you decide what to use?
Al Kooper was genius but an odd duck. Would love to have been able to pick his brain during those sessions.
Including why the heck he thought Simple Man was a weak song.

I have a one story house(no, it's not a "ranch"). Which combo amp I use depends on the size of the room we're gonna play and my interest in grunting it into the van. Heaviest that actually gets used is 34.5 lbs.(R200c), maybe slightly heavier with the power cord and cover. At my age it comes down to what I can lift out of the basement for the gig,,![]()
