Thunderbird Club

Sure, whip out the "we have an ocean" card why don't you!:D We have woods, farmland, mountains, a swamp, a giant cave, all the bourbon anyone could want, low taxes and cost of living and lots of gold. There's even a small desert at Ft Knox. And Ashley Judd.....Never mind.

Well, it was worth a try. Cal does seem amazing, if not enchanting and I understand why many choose to live there.

Paradise ... but (as always) Paradise has a price.

I had one of those for a while - eggshell white  with blue leather interior

A huge tank of a car. Somehow, that's what most of my vehicles have been

An artist friend was "gifted" a late '70s T-bird (car) from his parents. Insane vehicle. HUGE front end - like a corporate conference table. Interior felt cramped and claustrophobic. Ridiculous car.

Unencumbered by the reality of work and other matters, given the opportunity, I would live in Alaska. Anchorage seems like a beautiful city with moderate weather. I might consider relocating November through March though.

I remember those - my granddad had one (that he let me drive while sitting on his lap....:jawdrop: ), and my grandmother (mom's side) had the Lincoln version (a '75, I think, MK V, maybe? Had the 460 engine....) in the '80s. Hood long enough for probably like 4-5 2021 cars

I think one of the biggest/best design solutions for modern cars was disappearing the front end as much as possible. I have always liked the '70s Triumph TR-6 (Chucky's wife drives a white one - super cool) but like other cars of that decade the hood/front end is huge and 'way out there'. Most modern cars have a front-end but it dives out of vision so you can see the road (and pedestrians, dogs etc) ahead. "what's that up the road... a head?"

Speaking of 1962 - here's a perfect TSC's song I just discovered that we should cover -

Thr Shameless Pillars of Society could do that one. It would sound different with an upright, but it suits Amanda's range and voice. I wonder if she speaks or fakes French.

As long as nobody notices Washington, life is good.

I do much prefer having a hood, within reason. I get pretty uncomfortable driving things where the hood is so short, I feel like I'm driving a van/CoE/cab forward type of vehicle. Even most of my "small" cars have had prominent hoods, like the '89 Supra I drove for years.

I think a number of people are like that, possibly one of the reasons trucks/SUVs remain so popular. Gives the feeling (illusion?) of having a bit more space & protection from the rest of the crazy drivers
