Thunderbird Club

We have local small growers by us who grow amazing strawberries. We line up for them at the stands. The stores only carry production berries from Santa Maria and Oxnard. They're picked way too early. Saying they taste like cardboard is being too kind.
Farmers markets snd stands are where it’s at in California!

Actually it is for this time of year, we natives just want everyone else to think it rains here all the time
It rains as much or more in many other parts of the country, including NYC. It stays light out late into the evening with the sun setting in the northwest - love it!
A friend from Oregon in college admitted to me that it didn’t rain as much as they made it sound like. That was just to keep people from elsewhere from taking over. I wish Austin had done something like that.

It's really nice here in Seattle today, 77 and no humidity, just don't tell anyone - too bad I'm inside at work until 5:00!

Tell 'em it is too hot. Except that it is true that Austin is too hot.

Probably not a great idea to buy "fresh" crab, shrimp, or any other seafood out of a truck on the side of the road.
We are fortunate to have watermen friends that bring oysters and crabs right to the boat hours after catching them..it always better to avoid the middle man. It also helps that they know I’ll have cold beer for them and the mates when they pull up to the dock after a hard working day.1072E935-3AD7-40D5-8FBE-7729430CEDB5.jpeg744651FF-7773-478E-8239-CBE471ED5B94.jpegF788C7C7-A5A7-48D5-BB69-14AFF9DFF095.jpeg4F2B2E04-CB73-4F45-A54C-E1F02AED0E1F.jpeg

GC took my money, but I haven't seen any evidence that the black VP is on it's way yet. In a way that's good. It gives me another few days to figure out how to explain the presence of a black Thunderbird where there wasn't one before. We are getting hit with the price of a new fence, or half of it, anyway, since the fence between us and the neighbors fell down. I like it without a fence, but they want one. Well, she wants one. He's fine without a fence. Which means we will have a fence. Holy crap are fences expensive these days. I don't have time to build anything any more, so it will be done by a fence building company. No savings allowed, especially with lumber prices up the way they are. Good thing I had that moment of sun baked clarity or it would be a lot longer to find out what a VP is like.

At this point a metal fence would be less expensive - and it would be the best fence for metal.

Congratulations and welcome to the world of enlightenment.

In my mind, a standard cedar party fence costs $10 a linear foot. I guess that is ancient history?

On who's property did the fence fall? Isn't that who pays for the fence repairs? Or is it more akin to the airliner that crashes and you have to decide where to bury the survivors?

Why has no one yet commented on the propriety of posting pictures of a case of crabs?

And is there now a rival food to melons?
