I have a Gibson FSO (called an 2013 EB ) and it came stock with 3TSB and a Tort guard and humbuckers with coil switching (essentially the same pups and switching as the 2015 Tbird). I think Gibson was trying to out Fender Fender with that very short lived model. In fact IIRC 2013 was the only year tort was offered on the EB, they came to their senses after that.totally agree, don’t think Gibson ever adopted tort….wasn’t originally a 7ender exclusive thing? sure looks good on butterscotch….

Kept mine stock with the tort. I figure not many Gibson owners would do that. Haven’t played that bass in a while. Might have to give it a spin tonight. My 2013 EB came originally with a tort pick guard. It's different from Fender tort, but it's been replaced with black anyway.
LOL - I turned that clip on and it wasn’t 5 seconds after the singing started that my wife told me to turn it off or go in another room. I’m sure there are plenty of listeners and fans and groupies for this kind of music, but I’ll pass.I didn't know Alvin was still recording.
Same. I just don't bother much with tv in general.
Just give me re-runs of My Favorite Martian.
This isn't strictly (or remotely, I guess) Thunderbird related but....

....I don't know if I should be inspired to practice more, or inspired to just give up & sell off all my music stuff
(assuming that link works, of course)
I'm likely the only one here who doesn't have Netflix....
I'm not sure I like you any more..... That's a heavy dose of humility to dump on someone Kara!
I wish I'd had someone musical in my life when really young to get me consistently playing more than the radio. Had I started at her age I would unmistakably be less bad than I am.
But I have as much fun playing likely as those with real talent--and I don't have to work as hard to have the same amount of fun playing. So there!
Little fart! Don't think I ever got my Stingray to sound that good either!
Ha! It is coming up to census time here and my lil sister messaged me that she put Mauritian Creole as 2nd heritage after Irish, as a nod to Mum.
Unfortunately she made a typo and it came out Martian Creole!
but since you were wearing these no one could tell right?....Have just one hit off that vape.![]()
Easily. We don't have Netflix or anything like that. We don't have cable TV, either. Neither my wife nor I have missed either one.
So hard not to say “That’s it, I quit”. Being trounced by an 8 year old is beyond humbling, it’s borderline discouraging. I just keep telling myself - I’m not trying to be the best bass player out there, I’m in it for the fun and to maintain mental and physical dexterity. Besides, I’d hate to give up my membership number in the “Lousy bass players with expensive gear” club.
Hats off to the kid, she looks like she’s having fun and sounds like she is a relatively accomplished player at a ridiculously young age. She has her whole life in front of her, I hope she makes the most of it.
Thanks! Might even get here in time for the next TT. Coming from PA.
Same. I just don't bother much with tv in general.
Just give me re-runs of My Favorite Martian.
Isn't that just you looking in the mirror? ;-)
I'm the resident half Martian.
LOL - well, that changes everything.She's 9, not 8, so you're fine.

When I was a lot younger I payed guitar right-handed, but never really stuck with it. Fast forward many years and friend asked me to play bass in his band. I had to basically start all over again and playing left-handed just felt "right." ¯\_(ツ)_/¯That's great. That's not very far, so hopefully you're right. I'm sure finding decent lefties is a huge understatement.
Being a lefty myself, I'm curious how to started playing. Did you start out playing lefty because it seemed more natural or did you switch at some point?
