Here’s how I “fixed” the bridge on my EBO in the 80’s. I haven’t needed to adjust the height, but if I did, I would just make another mahogany block.
It works for me.

Do you have a bench grinder? You can buy a hex bolt that will screw into the third hole They come with a nice round top in silver or black (see @Engle above). Then you'll need to grind the top of the bolt down to 1/8". It will work as a lifter too.

I do have a grinder and have already thought of this, the third hole comment was bait, you guys are slipping, disappointing. I really don't want to use the third hole and like the idea of a cover for it.

I have an Alpine White Epiphone T-bird Classic. ( the one with the Gibson pickups).

How can I brighten up the tone? Even with new D'addario xl170's, it still sounds very "dark".

That's how the Classic Pro is designed to sound. If you want bright, get a Vintage Pro (now rebranded 60s Classic or something like that).

You can put your brightest strings on and get some mids and highs, but without completely gutting the low end, I'm not sure it'll ever sound all that bright. The darkness (not the Darkness) is one of the reasons I love my CP so much. It's truly a THUNDERbird.

Now watch someone prove me wrong in the next 20 posts!

Edit: People did offer options. Curious to see if any of them are good enough. I will note that I have EBCFs on mine, and while it's never really bright (to my ears), it can get brighter than I want.

I met with the chairman. It turns out that whereas I thought I was lobbing a grenade, it was more like a claymore mine. Ball bearings piercing precisely the targets at which it was aimed. Unfortunately, it means that I am not fired.

Oh well, I live to set off more ordinance another day...

Note to self - my old CO's advice was only partly right. His career advice was "you get three questions and one complaint a year. Use them wisely". I think perhaps there needs to be a corollary; sometimes you get the best results when you are willing to blow everything up including yourself.

Try SIT Power Steels or the stainless steel Dunlop Markus Miller Superbrights. And don't be shy about upping mids and treble.

A case of I am the only one in a position to save the company. The board knows it. The CEO knows but won't admit it. What they don't know is that if I walk (or am walked out), there are several other critical people who will walk.

I keep hoping I will get fired. I will be able to buy just the assets I want out of bankruptcy in 6 months.
